Our Economy is Collapsing. The Liberals will Now Institute Some Kind of Neo- Fascism or Socialism or Some New Blend to Maintain Power.

Despite numerous warnings and other signs, our economy is slowly collapsing and the liberals just plod onward in their greedy quest for bigger government, higher taxes and more power. [1][2][3] Our federal government is slithering down the same latrine as California[4][5][6]—heading for bankruptcy. They can do nothing more than tax and spend thus they share the same mentality and outlook as those in Sacramento although they cannot print money yet. They can issue IOUs. Both governments refuse to cut anything. Those who stooge for liberals (like Paul Krugman) drone on and on about higher and higher taxes and nationalization of banks and socialized medicine and more government control of everything.[7][8]  Such allied political groups may soon be incorporated into something resembling an amalgam of the New Fascists, Marxists, Leninists and the New Socialists and perhaps other oddities yet to be invented. All this is beginning to look like an opportunity to grab wealth and power by the left using a fusion of Fascist and socialist political systems. The left apparently want to carve out some new, vast and all-powerful government from the chaos of depression and inflation. Their lust for power is unquenchable. They are driving us into that maelstrom.

Debt

We are busted. Our debt levels are so high that even the Chinese complain about the stability of our currency.[9] People cannot seem to think about GM in anything but political terms. GM had lost a total of $80 bln dollars and to make that up with a 10% profit they would have to sell $800 bln dollars in cars, more than the current bailout. $800 bln dollars in autos would mean 20 million cars at $40,000 per car or in they can only make 1% then that would require a sale of 200,000,000 cars. GM expects $50 bln in bailouts for the first round[10] as some of their models are shut down and their market share drops below 19% of the auto market in the US. In the Chrysler bankruptcy Obama called the bond holders ‘speculators’ and forced the bankruptcy judge to give away this secured debt to the unions [political allies] and some  obscure Italian carmaker who makes lousy cars. Thus, the federal government adjudicates debt and equity allocations and shifts ownership of assets to political allies.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, poorly run historically by government people and their friends, hold half the nation’s mortgages for a sum of about$ 3.19 trillion dollars, much of that in worthless toxic assets and defaults rose from %1.3 to % 3.68. They will need a bailout.

Our net worth is down to some $57 trillion dollars and the combined national debt, Social Security, the national and foreign debt and Medicare now project spending of are now projected to be about $54 trillion dollars. That is broke.  By 2011 48% of all US homeowners will have negative equity in their homes thus erasing any credit from that asset.[11]

Incoherent Spending and Tax Lust

Idiots[12] in California[13] now run a 26% budget deficit[14] and with some accounting tricks and moans they can borrow and put off payments for a while and rob the cities of their scarce cash and what happens next year? They will have another such deficit!

Every trillion spent is a new tax liability for those who work and pay taxes [only about half of the work force pays federal income taxes] of $16,000 per trillion owed on average. [15] There is no way workers can pay this back in 20 years as the total of all debts now exceeds $600,000 per taxpayer above the median.  The 2009 Obama deficit will soar beyond $2.87 trillion as it now stands.[16]  That is more than $45,000 in new debt this year alone per taxpayer who pays taxes. We now have 34 million or %11 of the population on food stamps. About 5 million illegal aliens [this exact number is disputed] have subprime mortgages[17] and many are in default. They can vote in many states but do not file federal or state tax returns. Citibank was accepting tax ID numbers instead of Social Security numbers. [18]

Our tax revenues are sinking fast:

The numbers could hardly be more stark: Tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression, while the federal deficit balloons to a record $1.8 trillion.[19] – AP Enterprise: Federal tax revenues plummeting By Stephen Ohlemacher, Associated Press Writer  Mon Aug 3 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes

unless specifically indicated as in the original.]

The last time the government's revenues were this bleak, the year was 1932 in the midst of the Depression.”-- By Stephen Ohlemacher, AP  Mon Aug 3, 2009

Is there a way out of the financial mess?

A key factor is the economy's health. The future of current programs — not to mention the new ones Obama is proposing — will depend largely on how fast the economy recovers from the recession, said William Gale, co-director of the Tax Policy Center.”-- By Stephen Ohlemacher, AP  Mon Aug 3, 2009

President Barack Obama has said he wants to tackle Social Security next year, after he clears an already crowded agenda that includes overhauling health care, addressing climate change and imposing new regulations on financial companies.”-- By Stephen Ohlemacher, AP  Mon Aug 3, 2009

Well, there are no examples of the government “streamlining a federal program” or “saving money” if we examine the histories of education, Head Start, welfare, Amtrak, Social Security, Medicare, the Postal Service and the military. Can some of us recall the War on Poverty, Great Society, HUD, and some other failures? What happened to their promises on those? They have NEVER been able to cut out waste and inefficiency because they refuse to fire incompetents. Amtrak, established in 1970 has never made a profit in a single year to date.

And in a sinking economy they talk not of cutting but taxing and spending more:

Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., chairman of the House subcommittee that oversees fuel taxes, is working on a package to make the fund more self-sufficient. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which doesn't back many tax increases, supports increasing the federal gasoline tax, currently 18.4 cents per gallon.”-- By Stephen Ohlemacher, AP  Mon Aug 3, 2009

They now expect to add in Cap and Trade energy taxes that will increase costs everywhere in the US. The proposed Cap and Trade taxes would be world wide.[20] Some even call for a second ‘stimulus’ even thought the first one did nothing we can see as yet.[21]

Power from Chaos

This is really insane: they either think they can spend their way out of this mess OR they think they can make out politically from a complete collapse of our economy and that is what looks to be the case in Washington.  That would require a new form of authoritarian government and that would be some blend of Fascism or Neo-Fascism in this case and socialism or Leninism.

Fascism was invented by Benito Mussolini who was editor of the biggest socialist newspaper in Italy and he states quite clearly in his autobiography[22] that he hated capitalists. Hitler ranted on about capitalists but was forced to make a deal with the Junkers for money to finance his political campaign.  The old definitions of Marxism, socialism and Fascism are too rigid to describe what is happening. We need to select parts and pieces of each system and fit them into a new puzzle to describe what is going on the US today.  Racism, as usual, plays a dominant role in leftist politics. [23] The only people now remaining on the trueright’ are the followers of William F. Buckley, Jr., Ronald Reagan, Michael Savage[24], Mark Levine[25] and Rush Limbaugh[26] among several others. None of these persons ever wanted or even suggested bigger government or any ‘socialized’ government ‘program’ of any kind  and stated this negative position against the left  loudly and clearly for decades. Their calls for tax cuts infuriated the left because all they have or can get derive from taxpayers, business owners or landowners or salaried workers above the median income. The left cannot be forced to believe that tax cuts encourage economic growth. They view tax cuts as an expense. Except for a growing number of Americans who sense that things are not going well and that the obvious promises of President Obama have not been fulfilled, the Democrats have full power to do anything they want and they clearly want more power. We have to worry how this new system might act if we have some more financial crises. A major crisis might perturb the food supply or transportation ‘or energy supply  and cause a panic.

Here, in this new blend of socialism and control of business—similar to the People’s Republic system that mixes totalitarianism with 16th century mercantilism—the government would control business by takeovers and replacing management along with canceling equities and nullifying bonds and nationalize only the banks and other selected businesses. Bond holders[27] in the auto industry were recently deemed “speculators” [read greedy] by Obama.[28] Perhaps stock holders and pension funds that buy bonds are “speculators.”  Are homeowners with paid-up mortgages “greedy?” It appears that anybody with assets is a target of the left. Maxine Waters[29] threatened to nationalize [socialize in her words] the oil companies[30]during one of her tirades.

The association with the process where government directly runs businesses is old hat in modern terms and there is no reason to match the new Neo-Fascism with the right wing. Socialism strictly requires[31] that the government controls state-owned and tolerates private businesses and controls access to such services and products but that never works. Marxism is much worse. What I see is a new symbiotic relationship between socialism and Fascism, both elements of the left—not the right—to form a new system. For clarity, the Nazi party was far left and was called The National Socialist German Workers' Party (German:  Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei , abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the Nazi Party.[32] What Hitler got in a democratic procedure  was an enabling act that gave him permanent powers very similar to what Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner attained by law and who has unlimited powers to print money and restructure banks  and who knows what in our economy without any interference or opposition from the courts or anybody else. Think about this. Did Hitler have this much power?

The path forward put forth by Congress and the White House is so brainless that I now believe that the ‘plan’ is to let the economy go down in flames by printing money as fast as they can so that our bank accounts will become worthless. Then the government can step in and declare capitalism a failure, ‘restore order’ and seize tangible assets to later be ‘spread around’ for the ‘poor’ and the dream of redistribution of wealth by the rabid left will become a reality. Greedy speculators and bond holders and those who are debt free thus become of enemy of the New State and their holdings such as 401(k)s, homes and businesses might be subject to seizure. This is what the Bolsheviks did in 1918-1919 and what they tried to do in Germany, Spain and Italy.  It is interesting that Bolshevism was halted by an internal squabble among leftists.  There is no such division among those players now.

We have major problems approaching and very soon. It is becoming more difficult to believe we can trust our government. They want to pass laws before the elected representatives have had the opportunity to read the legislation.

[11]NEW YORK (Reuters) – The percentage of U.S. homeowners who owe more than their house is worth will nearly double to 48 percent in 2011 from 26 percent at the end of March, portending another blow to the housing market, Deutsche Bank said on Wednesday.

Home price declines will have their biggest impact on prime "conforming" loans that meet underwriting and size guidelines of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the bank said in a report. Prime conforming loans make up two-thirds of mortgages, and are typically less risky because of stringent requirements.” http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090805/bs_nm/us_usa_housing_deutschebank

From an edited  previous blog: “Only half of the 130 million workers in the US pay taxes so a trillion dollars winds up to be $16,000 in tax liability for each worker who pays taxes. [15] Note that 20 trillion in debt becomes $320,000 in tax liability per worker who makes over $50,000. That means that the total equity [and more] of the homes of the average worker is in jeopardy.  The only people who can pay high taxes are those with wealth and property and they will be asked, or forced, to pay for most the new spending, debt service and new social programs. This debt is so large that it impacts the 401(k)s now so popular since Social Security is a grim  joke. The temptation by government is to seize the 401(k)s and blend this money into some federal retirement system patterned along the same lines as the USSR plan. All that wealth vanished in inflation by 1990.” [15]

[17] “Regional reports across the country have decried the subprime meltdown's impact on illegal-immigrant "victims." A July report showed that in seven of the 10 metro areas with the highest foreclosure rates, Hispanics were at least one-third of the population; in two of those areas - Merced and Salinas-Monterey, Calif. - Hispanics comprised half the population. The National Council of La Raza and its Development Fund have received millions in federal funds to "counsel" their constituents on obtaining mortgages with little to no money down; the group almost succeeded in attaching a $10 million earmark for itself in one of the housing bills passed this spring.” http://www.nypost.com/seven/09242008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/illegal_aliens__the_mortgage_mess_130482.htm

[18]Citibank has been offering illegal aliens mortgages by using Taxpayer ID numbers instead of Social Security numbers to bypass the fact that these people are illegal aliens. On top of this they are actually giving these illegal aliens special treatment they wouldn't even extend to US citizens. This is an outrage. To the millions of Americans who cannot afford a home this is simply indefensible.http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives/001610.html

The Old Red Lady of the Old Gray Lady Comments on Losers: Clinton and Kim

The Old Red Lady of the Old Gray Lady Comments on Losers: Clinton and Kim

Abstract: Maureen Dowd acts as if she has inside information on what North Korea has received or is owed for this recent generous act of getting rid of two political thorns in Kim’s backside. Bill Clinton has apparently secured some kind of diplomatic miracle with Kim despite Hillary’s nasty comments just a few weeks ago.  The price for this was a few hours with an unsmiling Billy? Dowd appears to manufacture or conceal inside information from the rest of the world in this article.  What was the payment? We need to wait and see what Kim does with his weapons programs and how he interacts with his neighbors in Asia. Bill Clinton deals in bribes, ideological racism and raw sex—none of which might interest Kim in either his present condition or his past. Dowd blows bubbles into the wind this time.

We are always entertained by the scribblings that appear like truck-stop restroom hieroglyphics in the NYT—aka the Walter Duranty Papers[1]-- as they attempt to ‘form public opinion.’ Or, as they heap the pyres with synthetic praise for the antics of their far left benefactors--their ideological partners in Congress—by endorsing new and sweeping changes that ultimately lead to socialism, inflation, debt and the loss of our Constitutional Rights.  In a previous screed[2] she savagely bit into the image of Sarah Palin and demonstrated how much venom she can extrude in one episode on her keyboard. She mellows today.

But, today, we are treated to an unusual  critical analysis of the magical works of Bill Clinton and his little stage puppet in North Korea by the Old Red Lady[3][4][5] of the Old Gray Lady[6] [Dah Dowdy Dowd]. [7] Aside: [Does Maureen cook her hair in the microwave??[8] Where does that color come from? As a chemist, I know that some chemicals that color can eat through glass, flesh and concrete. [9] Oh well, some mysteries of the universe are too frightening to understand in detail.]

Dowd is no fan of Slick Willie as she was one of the first of the far left to dump on him in his first term.  She called Hillary “Godzilla” and Obama was “Obambi.”[10] Maureen has certain journalistic freedoms that are unusual and praiseworthy in the halls of the New York Times. Unlike others who whose intellectual sandals are mired in congealed leftist drool, or other bodily emissions, she stands above and apart from  pedestrian-grade chum-chuckers like Frank-the Crank[11][12] or the protosimian racist Herbert[13]or even the Babbling Brooks, an imaginary token of the right. [14] Today she exercises her wide literary freedom and resumes her legendary attack on Clintoonery.[15]

Launching off with spite and venom:

When I look at the incorrigible Kim Jong-il, an insult hurled by the incomparable Billy Wilder comes to mind… Wilder announced: “That man should go hang himself from a bonsai tree.”

The diminutive North Korean leader has been known to use lifts in his shoes. This time, he demanded some special stature in the form of a diplomatic cameo by our top diplomat’s husband.”[16]--Let the Big Dog Run By Maureen Dowd Op-Ed Columnist Published: August 4, 2009 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes unless specifically indicated as in the original.]

Some in her camp would automatically praise Kim as they did Pol Pot and Fidel Castro, but times change.

The price set by Kim for releasing the two captured American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, was a few hours basking in the presence of the ex-president who most wanted to visit North Korea. Bill Clinton was willing to bow but not scrape.”-- By Maureen Dowd August 4, 2009

Really?

With some literary license our Old Red Lady seems to be in receipt of information unavailable to the rest of us. Billy had time for several North Korean-instigated sexual escapades in the weeks of preparation time before this circus performance and we can only guess that he has more favors coming from the hapless Kim. But, maybe Maureen has a spy inside Bill’s group of groupies.

It was a moment unique in the annals[sic[17]] of diplomacy. Bill was being hailed as a dazzling statesman [sans cigar this time we think ed] who might have changed the stormy weather between the U.S. and North Korea, just as Hillary was beginning an 11-day trip to Africa designed to highlight the subjects she most cares about: do-gooder development and women’s issues.”-- By Maureen Dowd August 4, 2009

Is Kim that frantic? Billy has been bought for very little such as a small sack of soiled bills at Tea Time in the White House. We can only wonder what Kim has offered him.

Spite:

It’s fun to speculate whether Bill and Kim discussed the exchange of insults with Hillary. (North Korea issued a jibe back that Hillary was “a funny lady” and that “sometimes she looks like a primary schoolgirl and sometimes a pensioner going shopping.”-- By Maureen Dowd August 4, 2009

Well, give us your speculations! You usually do. Oh! Next paragraph.

Bill Clinton will bring back valuable information [??] about Kim’s mental and physical health. If we’d had that sort of information about the snubbed Saddam, we would have known that he was in his own spiral of doom, trying to bluff his neighbors, with no need for our shock and awe.

Hillary and President Obama look bigger when they share the stage with other talented players. And Barack and Bill may have finally started to put South Carolina behind them — without the need for a beer summit photo-op.”-- By Maureen Dowd August 4, 2009

This hokum sticks to the very walls and prompts us to wonder how this will turn out.  The invasion of Kuwait and the war with Iran were not exactly bluffs, but this paper deals in revisionism so we must accept this comment. In the Obama political theater we need for Kim to get back to 6-party talks on his nuclear program in the midst of this new Era of Leftist Fascism.[18] Kim needs to offer the world some more lies before he expires and make false promises that he will allow inspectors to peruse his nuclear weapons programs again. This will buy his regime time and the opportunity to troll for alms. This is a very big payment, if it happens, on something else. We can only wonder if Kim was promised a lot of money, since we are printing tons of the stuff.

The oblique comment about “South Carolina” and “need for a beer summit” just stokes the fires of racism so essential to the future of the Obama and the NYT.  The notion that Bill can be compensated for his wife’s presidential campaign loss and personal loss of $11 million dollars and the waste of $250,000,000 dollars of loyal leftist contributions with some photos with the fragile Kim is a joke.  The notion that Obama can forget the overt racism Bill displayed for this gesture  in South Carolina is a bigger joke.

Kim is too smart to just give up two wandering fruit loops who stooge for Al Gore[19] for just a mere photo-op and some kimchi at a dinner with Billy. He will get much more for this little intermezzo or we have to lower our expectations of Kim. We can only wonder what it will be but the Obama Reverence for Marxism has to be considered.

And a final question here: Who is the Big Dog in this piece? Kim or Clinton??

Racism and the “Out of Context Excuse” from the White House. Lies Compounded with More Lies—the Old Democrat Way.

Racism and the “Out of Context Excuse” from the White House.  Lies Compounded with More Lies—the Old Democrat Way.

Abstract:  We all know that Obama is an ideological racist.[1] We know that he lied about his intention of a single-payer system [read socialized medicine] in the past.[2] We know that Obama reacted in a racist –knee-jerk manner over the Gates Affair.[3] We know he received his 20 year Associate Racists Degree from Jeremiah Wright. Now, there is an attempt to redact history emanating like some colonic effluvium from the White House.

From my previous comments:

“An analysis of what Obama was and what he is now is becoming disturbing. His background, what we can learn of it, is that of a dexterously crafted caricature of an elitist that was groomed to be a reflection of some plastic political reflection of ‘change.’ He was indoctrinated into fashionable Neo-Marxism by some of the best fellow travelers and was taught how to be an ideological racist while avoiding the obvious appearance of a race baiter like Al Sharpton or Louis Farrakhan. He was mesmerized by Jeremiah Wright for 20 years. He is slick in that instance.  What he turns out to be, so far, is a bungling stooge whose control of his party and his mouth is metamorphosing into a sad joke.  We can seriously now question his ability to lead anything given what he has shown us and who he selected for his staff. “[4]—rycK 8.03.09

Now, when confronted with video sound bites of his own words the White House freaks and declares that his comments were ‘taken out of context.”[5] This ‘rebuttal’ comes from Linda Douglass, who supposedly has an email address of flag@whitehouse.gov, which doesn’t exist.

This response is so crude it deserves praiseworthy mention and an accusation of probable thinking by the New York Times—aka the Walter Duranty Papers, authorities on disinformation, propaganda pieces[6][7][8][9] and other matters. [10]

" I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be, potentially, some transition process: I can envision a decade out, or 15 years out, or 20 years out.”

Others , lie at the Observation Desk[11]saw this and recorded the transcript:

The video begins with a clip of President Obama, speaking at the AMA in June 2009, addressing an "illegitimate concern" by people who claim "a public option is somehow a Trojan horse for a single-payer system."

In the next clip, circa 2007, Senator Obama states "my commandment is to make sure we
have universal health care for all Americans by the end of my first term...but I don't think we're going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately..."

The then-Senator Obama addresses the
AFL-CIO's Civil, Human and Women's Rights Conference in 2003. Obama said "I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer, universal health care plan...that's what I'd like to see."[12]

A full text:

I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”[13]

It is difficult to get around all this evidence that Obama, in stealth if necessary, has been for socialized medicine for a long time, which fits his left-liberal and radial profile.

He is a liar and his stooges at the White House are in full damage control and will say or do anything.

This is such a joke. But, then, these are liberals.

Rewarding Bad Actors by More Bad Actors and Higher Taxes: A Krugman Gem

Abstract: Krugman of the New York Times maintains his reputation by focusing only on higher taxes and more regulations or ‘rules’ from government.  He offers anecdotes with condemnations on speculation and big profits but seems to ignore the salient fact that many liberals also make big bucks too.  He ignores that salient fact that many liberals make huge profits and escape target taxes.

The assembly of propaganda pieces[1][2][3][4][5] and other blends of disinformation are designed to sway the reader with some guarantee of money, justice or, more appropriately: the notion that justice will claw-back some of the ill-gotten money or hides of evil doers and capitalists.  Victims must be identified, praised and the wrongdoers punished, at best, with higher taxes or more legislation.

Today, for our amusement, our esteemed non-economist from the New York Times, who is known affectionately as Dr. Paul Krugman of the Walter Duranty Papers,[6] squeezes off another propagandistic offalette[7] sanctioning the enduring confiscation of more private loot by suggesting that we truncate remuneration  in the investment banks, or what is left of them, on Wall Street.

To wit:

Americans are angry at Wall Street, and rightly so. First the financial industry plunged us into economic crisis, then it was bailed out at taxpayer expense. And now, with the economy still deeply depressed, the industry is paying itself gigantic bonuses. If you aren’t outraged, you haven’t been paying attention.[8]-- Rewarding Bad Actors By Paul Krugman Op-Ed Columnist Published: August 2, 2009 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

Could we recall that Franklin Raines too away gigantic bonuses after cooking the books at Fannie Mae and was not condemned for this by the NTY or investigated, rewarded with some unknown function in the Obama election committee and received only praise from Maxine Waters?

Krugman appears to be blissfully unaware that the CRA [the phony Community Communist Reinvestment Act][9][10]  forced banks to lend out money at a loss and that this contributed to the collapse of the credit markets. The phony mortgages were bundled and sold as ‘investments.’ Fanny Mae was the toilet where bad loans could be flushed and Franklin Raines[11] made a cool $90,000,000 dollars off this scam. Oh, he is black and works for Obama? Oh, yes. Is Raines a fat cat under your definition Paul? This was all a vision of Greenlining.[12]

Maxine at her very best:

Maxine Waters: "We do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac and particularly Fannie Mae under the outstanding leadership of Frank Raines."—[comment  by Waters during a hearing in 2004 ] http://blog.beliefnet.com/reformedchicksblabbing/2008/09/maxine-waters-we-do-not-have-a.html Monday September 29, 2008 [Note the video showing Maxine was removed under threat of legal action.] Too bad the media has to be so crass as to filter out stuff like this.

Maxine at her second best:

This liberal will be all about socializing….ah ah ….ah …taking over…….government running all of your companies…. ah … ah. ..[13][14]—Maxine Waters on stage in a video.[15]

We wonder how Krugman might sanction this criminal action and justify the huge bonus for Raines?

Two pointless Krugmaniacal anecdotists follow on the issue of “profits from high-frequency trading” and “speculates on oil and other commodities.”

yadda yadda yadda”-- Rewarding Bad Actors By Paul Krugman

Could we wonder where we could have lost Krugman’s reference to George Soros here and comments in his currency speculations?? Did he try to sink the British pound? Oh! His actions do not belong in this article about greed and high profits and speculation! I understand.

Oh! This must be it:

Just to be clear: financial speculation can serve a useful purpose. It’s good, for example, that futures markets provide an incentive to stockpile heating oil before the weather gets cold and stockpile gasoline ahead of the summer driving season.”-- Rewarding Bad Actors By Paul Krugman

And what can we predict Krugman will advise as a ‘solution’ to these ills?

What should be done? Last week the House passed a bill setting rules for pay packages at a wide range of financial institutions. That would be a step in the right direction. But it really should be accompanied by much broader regulation of financial practices — and, I would argue, by higher tax rates on supersized incomes.”-- Rewarding Bad Actors By Paul Krugman

Does this theme bypass Warren Buffett and George Soros?? I think it does. These are ‘friends of the left’ thus immune to abuse or condemnation or targeted taxes.

Neither the administration, nor our political system in general, is ready to face up to the fact that we’ve become a society in which the big bucks go to bad actors, a society that lavishly rewards those who make us poorer.”-- Rewarding Bad Actors By Paul Krugman

This last sentence references a routine propagandistic turn-of-the-crank message alluding to the zero-sum theory where those whose assets are above the median must have gotten them unfairly. How many starve in Africa because Oprah or Michael Jackson or Barbara Streisand or made 100-+250 million per year or so?? How many starved in America when Joe Kennedy ran booze during the depression and made millions while escaping taxes and justice?

Krugman fails to mention that many traders in the speculative world have low salaries or work on a contract basis and will get little or nothing if they don’t perform and deliver high profits. Strangely, the NFL and NBA, hookers on 8th Avenue, fisherman and most lawyers operate in a similar manner.  The illogic of selecting certain careers and blandishing them with selected social abuse labels fails to demonstrate to us a level playing field and undermines the notion of a progressive tax for all.

The underlying message here is that the ‘enemies of liberalism’ require a punitive tax and that ‘friends of liberalism’ may continue making millions in the meanwhile.

[9]Bear Stearns made the first public securitization of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) loans started in 1997.[6] Editorialists in some American newspapers[7][8] and US Congressman Ron Paul[9] say the CRA loans were lent to otherwise un-credit-worthy consumers in the name of ending discrimination, although an analysis of actual lending patterns does not generally support this conclusion.[10][11][12]

On June 22, 2007, Bear Stearns pledged a collateralized loan of up to $3.2 billion to "bail out" one of its funds, the Bear Stearns High-Grade Structured Credit Fund, while negotiating with other banks to loan money against collateral to another fund, the Bear Stearns High-Grade Structured Credit Enhanced Leveraged Fund.[13] The funds were invested in thinly traded collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) found to be worth less than their mark-to-market value. Merrill Lynch seized $850 million worth of the underlying collateral but only was able to auction $100 million of them. The incident sparked concern of contagion as Bear Stearns might be forced to liquidate its CDOs, prompting a mark-down of similar assets in other portfolios.[14][15] Richard A. Marin, a senior executive at Bear Stearns Asset Management responsible for the two hedge funds, was replaced on June 29 by Jeffrey B. Lane, a former Vice Chairman of rival investment bank, Lehman Brothers.[16]

During the week of July 16, 2007, Bear Stearns disclosed that the two subprime hedge funds had lost nearly all of their value amid a rapid decline in the market for subprime mortgages.

The ideological racism machines grinds on at the NYT where the purity and innocence of Afro-Americans, not to mention their manifold social problems, such as crime, are bathed in vast pools of excuses. Whites are guilty again. Even in cities where whites have had little control of anything, like New Orleans, we must always seek new excuses for the exercise of reverse racism and blame whites for the failure of leftist government.

Herbert turns an old rusty crank that has produced nothing but more sloth, sodomy, street crime, drug addiction and racial hatred and will continue to do so in the best disinformation traditions of Walter Duranty and other NYT icons. If Gates had been civil instead of launching off in rage the matter would have ended there. Gates is just what we expect from an AA graduate: too noisy, lacking any identifiable intellectual credentials, undignified and prone to howl before thinking. This is now a mere propaganda exercise for the NYT. The Party of Democrats cannot survive without 90% black votes and it is the solemn duty of the NYT to keep the race pots boiling as Mayor LaGuardia mentioned decades ago.

Herbert and Rich fan the fires as often as they can.

O’Bozo is a Liar as Well as a Bigot and Ideological Racist

O’Bozo is a Liar as Well as a Bigot and Ideological Racist

I have several things listed below this:

And, now we have proof from his own twisted mouth:

UNCOVERED VIDEO: OBAMA EXPLAINS HOW HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN WILL ‘ELIMINATE’ PRIVATE INSURANCE

http://www.breitbart.tv/uncovered-video-obama-explains-how-his-health-care-plan-will-eliminate-private-insurance/

From my previous comments:

An analysis of what Obama was and what he is now is becoming disturbing. “[1]

So, we have a sophist and an ideological racist who was politically  fine-tuned by Jeremiah Wright and launches into the xenophobic clouds on matters of race[2] e.g.-- howled that the police acted ‘stupidly’ without any evidence or accurate information in the Gates Crisis--has wild support from Africa, the welfare rights crowd, certain terrorist groups like the Black Panthers, the prison guests, the unions, most of the Middle East and Europe  and who, we observe,  has no experience other than 160 days as a ‘senator’ and has his little finger on some 50 trillion dollars in assets and wants to ‘spread it around.[3]

I call for his impeachment for blatant lies to the public

There is No Tax Bottom to George Stephanopoulos’ ‘Bottom Line’ Other than his Bottom

There is No Tax Bottom to George Stephanopoulos’ ‘Bottom Line’ Other than his Bottom

Abstract: We are hopelessly in debt and our government can do no more than raise taxes and print money. The amount of debt we owe as average citizens is way beyond our ability to repay. Our government lies to us about this and is monetizing the debt [printing money to pay interest and principal on our current debt] and will now tax everything they can. Inflation will roar and our economy will collapse and our government CANNOT find a single place to make spending cuts. Not a solitary place. The end is in sight. Inflation will wipe out our savings and wipe out 25% of all jobs in the US while illegal aliens get free healthcare.

Appeasement is best acted out in political matters such as mimicking the part of the drooling peasant cautiously approaching the king’s carriage and who said in some movie: ”Pardon me , governor, for fouling the air you breath, sire..[or words to that effect]” while twisting his hat with his unwashed fingers in reverence and advanced obsequiousness in the presence of his superiors.

Little “Steffi[1]  has learned his lesson since making a comment, for money, in his book about his prior benefactor Bill Clinton: “…a complicated man responding to the pressures and pleasures of public life in ways I found both awesome and appalling."[2] Steffi is now in the nonreporting business and spends much time filtering out the firm information during interviews with leftist politicians and their familiars.

An example of wasting bandwidth in the ether for no gain comes from a recent interview with our elfin tax cheat Little Timmy Geithner:[3]

Steffi axes:

To get the economy back on track, will President Barack Obama have to break his pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans? In a “This Week” exclusive, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told me, "We’re going to have to do what’s necessary.””[4]-- Geithner Won’t Rule Out New Taxes for Middle Class By George Stephanopoulos August 02, 2009 8:02 AM George's Bottom Line Reporting and analysis from ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent and "This Week" Host George Stephanopoulos [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

I thought that Bill Clinton ran on a ‘middle class tax break’ in his first round. Gee, what happened to that?[5]

Well, let’s probe this bottom and find out if there is any substance emerging anywhere:

We will not get this economy back on track, recovery will be not strong and sustained, unless we convince the American people that we are going to have the will to bring these deficits down once recovery is firmly established,” he said.”-- George Stephanopoulos August 02, 2009

Gee, how about some spending cuts??

Note: the words ‘spending’ and ‘cut’ do not appear anywhere in this ’interview’ but do appear in the detailed transcript.[6]

"We do not plan to ask for more money and I think it’s quite unlikely that we do," Geithner said in his most blunt language to date on TARP funding. The secretary said that today the TARP has roughly $130 billion, in part due to more than $70 billion that has already come back into the government.”-- George Stephanopoulos August 02, 2009

Did Steffi bother to axe Timmy if the TARP monies paid back would be recycled as more spending? No.

From the transcript:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Have you created a bottom?

GEITHNER: But I think we have a ways to go,. I want to emphasize the basic reality still that unemployment is very high in this country. We need to make Americans more confident about their future.”-- George Stephanopoulos August 02, 2009

GEITHNER: George it is absolutely right and very important for everyone to understand we will not get this economy back on track, recovery will not be strong enough to sustain unless we can convince the American people that we're going to have the will to bring these deficits down once recovery is firmly established. Remember we inherited a 1 point three trillion dollar deficit. The cumulative consequences of the policies this country pursued over the last 8 years left us with 6 million [billion or trillion?? ed]dollars of more debt than we would have had by making a bunch of commitments to cut taxes and add to spending without paying for those. We are not going to be able to afford to do that. And it is very important that people understand that. Our first priority now though is to get this economy back on track, make sure this financial system is repaired. Without that, we're not going to get our deficits under control and the necessary path to fiscal responsibility, the necessary path to getting this country living within our means again is not just health care reform, to bring down those costs, but we're going to a range of other things and that's going to be a very difficult challenge for this country. We can do this, it just requires the will to act.

A pause to reflect on the past:

This debt thing is hooey. Consulting these CBO tables[7] in this link and taking into account that Nancy Pelosi controlled spending in the last two years of the Bush era, for about 600 bln dollars [$615.5 bln], we find a total of $2.7 trillion dollars attributed to George Bush according to CBO. The Obama deficit will soar beyond $2.87 bln as it now stands.

Continuing on here:

Top of Form

Bottom of Form

STEPHANOPOULOS: Including new revenues?

GEITHNER: Well, we're going to have to look at – we're going to have to do what's necessary. Remember the critical thing is people understand that when we have recovery established, led by the private sector, then we have to bring these deficits down very dramatically. We have to bring them down to a level where the amount we're borrowing from the world is stable at a reasonable level. And that's going to require some very hard choices. And we're going to have to do that in a way that does not add unfairly to the burdens that the average American already faces.

STEPHANOPOULOS: But that's the dilemma, isn't it?

GEITHNER: That is the dilemma.”-- George Stephanopoulos August 02`, 2009

This is politico babble at its finest. The Little One squirrels around in the butts for the nuts but cannot seem to get the notion of tax increases out in the open. There is no dilemma here—they want tax hikes and cannot mention the T Word in public.

What happened here is that Bush and the Dems, together, spent us into debt so deep that we now cannot crawl out. If we raise a mere trillion dollars in taxes to take away just about ½ of the projected 2009 Obama deficit of $1.5 trillion [it will certainly be bigger] we would bust the economy. There is no fix here.

The average citizen does not realize that ONLY taxpayers pay back the interest and principal on the debts and that ½ of them do not pay much in federal taxes. That leaves about only 60 million taxpayers to pay back $16,000 per trillion owed on average. [9]

How would you like to pay for this when we add in the current national debt of 12 trillion?? Let us see, that is 12+$2.87 bln so that rings out at just under $15 trillion dollars. That is a mere 15 x 16,000 or $240,000 per taxpayer who pays federal taxes plus interest. Gee, in 10 years you would only pay off the debt, not counting interest at $2,000 per month! How does that sound? In Oregon, the tax maggotry arena of the US for the moment [until New York goes completely down like California] we have a 57% tax bracket that includes state, federal and other taxes. [10] In Oregon, the average earnings for a family of four is $61,945.[11] [or $5,162 a month] so a 57% tax rate brings this down to something like [ignoring deductions for a moment] to $26,636.35 [or $2,219.70  per month] in disposal income but we can allow for some deductions to make things fair, but now what do we do about the additional $24,000 to pay off the debt in 10 years. Ooops.

Why not try to pay off the debt in, say, 100 years and get the payments down to $240 per month with interest. Let’s ask the Chinese about this. With interest this might be $1000 per month.

Oh, but did we figger in Social Security and Medicare costs and debt? Oh, we forgot. Let us see—the combined debt is only 54 trillion but most workers will pay for that so the tab is only about $8,000 per trillion per taxpayer or, gee, 8 x 54 or $432,000 for each worker.  If we do the 10 year trick above [and this is a big trick] we get about $43,000 per year ignoring interest [why make this too painful?] and that works out to about $3,500 more per month.

Well, that does not work out too well. It seems we need to push this debt past 10 years so can escape a tax rate of more than 100%. But, long term loans have a lot of interest to pay.

So, for a Oregon family of 4 making $5,162 a month we can take $432,000 for SS and Medicaid and $240,000 for the national debt, adding up to $662,000 and push that out 100 years for only $6,620  per year or about $500 per month not including interest, which would be about $2,000 per month on a 100 year loan. That gets our family down to $5,162 a month - $2500 –for the 57% tax bracket of $2,219.70   or $5,162 minus $2,500 and also minus 2,219.70 for a grand total of $442.30 per month to live on. That is an effective tax rate of only 91%.

They don’t like 100 year loans but they do give 50 year calculations on the internet. [12]

For a 50 year loan at only 3% [a bargain!!] for $662,000 has only 600 payments of $2,131.49 for a total of $1,278,894.62 and will be cleared in July 2059. That helps a lot because it gives the home owner $2219-$2139 for 80$ per month.  That breaks the $500 per month limit by $12!!

But at 10% inflation:

Your payment is now $5,554.88 per month before Oregon state and federal taxes. That leaves you short -$392.88. You could sell your car or cut lawns.

But, we would have to have a balanced budget to keep the tax rate going over 100% would we not??

Let us hear from the Sage of Omaha and China  on this from a previous blog[13]:

Here is what the Chinese say:

“Mr Luo, whose English tends toward the colloquial, added: “We hate you guys. Once you start issuing $1 trillion-$2 trillion [$1,000bn-$2,000bn] . . .we know the dollar is going to depreciate, so we hate you guys but there is nothing much we can do.””[14]—wild rant by Luo Ping, a director-general at the China Banking Regulatory Commission [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

I thought the haters were only on the capitalist right wing—not in the Marxist camp that provides the vision for left-liberalism.  Here is a salient bit from the Brits:

It is unclear why US bond yields have spiked so violently, with spill-over effects on gilts and bunds. One camp of investors is worried that inflation is rearing its ugly head again: others fear a sovereign debt crisis as over-extended states loses their AAA ratings."[15]-- Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

And from the Sage of Omaha:

A country that continuously expands its debt as a percentage of GDP and raises much of the money abroad to finance that, at some point, it’s going to inflate its way out of the burden of that debt,” Buffett said….

“Every country that has denominated its debt in its own currency and has found itself with uncomfortable amounts of debt relative to the rest of the world, in the end they inflate,” Buffett explains. That becomes a tax on everybody that has fixed dollar investments.”[16]--Buffett Sees Massive Inflation to Handle Staggering Debt. Monday, May 4, 2009 By Dan Weil [Emphasis is mine in all quotes]

Gee, isn’t this swell. But, we can take the Obama Solution and raise our taxes and tax our way out of debt and into prosperity.

And this morning:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's treasury secretary said Sunday he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit, and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul.”-- 2 Obama administration officials can't guarantee middle-class Americans won't see tax hike By Philip Elliott, Associated Press Writer On Sunday August 2, 2009, 9:24 pm ED[Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Larry Summers both sidestepped questions on Obama's intentions about taxes. Geithner said the White House was not ready to rule out a tax hike to lower the federal deficit; Summers said Obama's proposed health care overhaul needs funding from somewhere.”-- By Philip Elliott

So, in the midst of a depression they are going to raise taxes!! Gee, that will be great.  Won’t that help the economy?? Sure!! Let’s spend our way out of debt! Wheeeee!

The End is in Sight. The economy is collapsing. Look into the latrines for the bottom they mention.

From an edited  previous blog: “Only half of the 130 million workers in the US pay taxes so a trillion dollars winds up to be $16,000 in tax liability for each worker who pays taxes. [9] Note that 20 trillion in debt becomes $320,000 in tax liability per worker who makes over $50,000. All that wealth vanished in inflation by 1990.” [9]

Justifiable Anger and Racist Police Actions Duly Explained by the NYT

Justifiable Anger and Racist Police Actions Duly Explained by the NYT

We are always excited to study and digest the frenetic political theorizing that is proffered as thinking at the New York Times—aka the Walter Duranty Papers. [1] When any economic or political event transpires, particularly one that can be deftly sculpted to showcase the ever-present racism by the mostly white police, the propaganda machines hum so that the public might be reeducated. Bob Herbert[2][3], whose articles rarely offer any new information and are mostly ignored by this blogger, since they tend to be mechanical and pedestrian in mentality, springs forth as if he has now had some advanced instruction in the proper use of propaganda and wants to show off.  He graduated today! In today’s article in the soon-t0-be-bankrupt Times Herbert reshuffles his authorized stack of soiled clichés and breaks new [to him] journalistic ground as he ‘teaches’ us all about the ‘attitudes’ of the Cambridge police and the civil rights incidents that have rocked the nation.

Herbert begins:

If Professor Gates ranted and raved at the cop who entered his home uninvited with a badge, a gun and an attitude, he didn’t rant and rave for long.[4]--Anger Has Its Place By Bob Herbert Op-Ed Columnist Published: July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass. [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

If pigs could fly…………. Notice that Herbert finds some ‘attitude’ problem on the part of the police that is not documented in the police report or given by witnesses. This crass assumption is essential to building his ‘case’ that Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was clearly innocent with the underlying assumption that he was justified at howling at the police. Perhaps, we might muse, because the cop was white? Well, let us read further.

The charge: angry while black.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Another academic opinion should have been used by Herbert to amplify his premise:

All white people are racists.“[5]-University of Delaware.

Actually the charge was disorderly conduct and is defined this way in that state:

You can argue the facts in court, but there's no question that the police report described the misdemeanor offense of "disorderly conduct" under Massachusetts law, which includes engaging in "tumultuous behavior" in "any neighborhood," thereby causing public "inconvenience, annoyance or alarm."[6] How About A National Conversation On Race Hoaxes? By Ann Coulter July 29, 2009

Herbert ignores all this and ignores the police report and the facts by creating a mythical political world where truth is unnecessary and racial politics are steered into a ‘blacks are innocent’ motif by any convenient means.

President Obama is challenged:

The president of the United States has suggested that we use this flare-up as a “teachable moment,” but so far exactly the wrong lessons are being drawn from it — especially for black people. The message that has gone out to the public is that powerful African-American leaders like Mr. Gates and President Obama will be very publicly slapped down for speaking up and speaking out about police misbehavior, and that the proper response if you think you are being unfairly targeted by the police because of your race is to chill.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Herbert magically conjures up these demons from the abyss with exactly no facts, but facts are not necessary in a political screed where chum is constantly chucked to the loyals to preserve the Democratic party and their essential black votes. Herbert announces that there is nothing to learn from this  “teachable moment.” Perhaps Herbert is unteachable.

Mr. Gates is a friend, and I was selected some months ago to receive an award from an institute that he runs at Harvard. I made no attempt to speak to him while researching this column.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Can any reader find Herbert’s research findings in any of this?? I cannot.

Professor Gates did absolutely nothing wrong. He did not swear at the officer or threaten him. He was never a danger to anyone. At worst, if you believe the police report, he yelled at Sergeant Crowley. He demanded to know if he was being treated the way he was being treated because he was black.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Here is the police report:[7] Professor [Do you know who I am???] Gates initially refused to show his ID to the police. That is a crime in itself. He was loud and unruly and that fits the criminal description of disorderly conduct in Cambridge and elsewhere in the civilized world.

Herbert urges:

Black people need to roar out their anger at such treatment, lift up their voices and demand change.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Inciting to riot?? Is that a crime?

We’re never going to have a serious national conversation about race.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

We hear about them all the time.  We read this every day in the New York Times. And Herbert is correct about the legalities of yelling at police:

"Contrary to the city’s [Houston, TX ed] contention, the First Amendment protects a significant amount of verbal criticism and challenge directed at police officers.  'Speech is often provocative and challenging...[But it] is nevertheless protected against censorship or punishment, unless shown likely to produce a clear and present danger of a serious, substantive evil that rises far above public inconvenience, annoyance or unrest." -- Houston v Hill, 482 US 451; 107 S Ct 2502; 96 L Ed 2d 398 (1987) and 482 US at 461.

Herbert rants on:

So that leaves it up to ordinary black Americans to rant and to rave, to demonstrate and to lobby, to march and confront and to sue and generally do whatever is necessary to stop a continuing and deeply racist criminal justice outrage.”-- Bob Herbert July 31, 2009 from Cambridge, Mass.

Somehow, we don’t really see much that is new here. Apparently the cop committed the crime. Herbert howls about the eternal racism and sounds the old stale trumpet and signals a clarion call for action in the streets.  Why not do Watts again? The mentality of such a piece in the NYT is surprisingly not out of line with the rest of this paper’s opinion op-eds. Racism is the very bedrock of the Party of Democrats[8] and without this social element, real or imaginary, they would have little power outside the inner cities, which are filled with black-on-black crime,[9] also probably to be blamed on whites in some manner.

Perhaps a solution to Herbert’s problem from another academic he has not commented on so far in his columns:

A quote by Kamau Kambon “[blacks must]…exterminate white people off the face of the planet.” [10] [The New York Times did not comment on this guy.] This affords a ‘solution’ to the problem of sorts.  Nobody is yelling at Professor Kambon it seems.

Gates is a sour affirmative action candidate who attempts to conform to an academic setting sans the cognitive or social skills to do so. We should wonder what his SAT score was. He is a howler and not a thinker. As such he acts like strange and reveals his character and demeanor with comments like this in this video and the transcript in the footnote:[11]

Gates missed an opportunity to show how modern Democrats feel about whites and Republicans in general:

"[Republicans] can go f--- themselves!" --Rahm Emanuel[12], Barack Obama's Chief of Staff[13]

It has been several decades since attempts were made to educate the wide spectrum of blacks in this country coupled with the use of emergency measures like affirmative action.[14] Sadly, very little progress has been made other than to cement the certainties of racism into a rugged and durable edifice that defies bona fide change. Given the indoctrination, the sorrowful cognitive skills[15] and other marginal attributes of those players like Gates who would speak for black Americans we can expect little in the future.  The NYT thus maintains a careful eye on the racial sty it has nutured and hopes to use this hatred to political advantage.

Maybe another 50 years of affirmative action will be necessary to elevate some of our citizens into the civil middle class outside the city projects where they can get real  jobs and earn a living on their own without so much help.

Maybe not with people like Gates and Herbert.

Kamau Kambon, an author who taught in NCSU's Africana Studies program as recently as last spring, made the comments Oct. 14 during a conference at Howard University in Washington. The conference was televised nationally by C-SPAN, and bloggers picked up on the comments immediately.”

[11] The only reason we have so many people doing so well, the only reason, is because of the civil rights movement and its child, affirmative action. Without affirmative action, we would have never been able to integrate racist historically white institutions in American society. And to me, the first fundamental question that we have to address is how to protect, preserve, and expand affirmative action.

When I went to college, instead of going to Howard like three generations of my family, which is certainly a great thing, I was able to go to
Yale University, because they were trying to diversify themselves. They wanted a class that looked more like America. They let in women for the first time. They let in black people for the first time. The class of '68 at Yale had 18 black kids.

My class, the class of '73, had 96 black kids. You know, I was
lucky enough to get a fellowship to go to England after I graduated. It's called a Mellon Fellowship. My daddy called it the Watermelon Fellowship, because I was the first black person to get it. That's true. Cornel knows my father. He knows I ain't lyin'.

And then, I taught at Yale for 9 years. I taught at Cornell for 5 years. I taught at Duke for one long, painful year. And then, uh ... that ain't lyin'. I don't even like the airplane to fly over
North Carolina.

(Addressing someone off camera) Oh, that's true. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And they got good barbecue, too. So maybe it's OK.

And now I've been, thank God, at Harvard for 5 years. Now each of those things was enabled, each was made possible, by the existence of affirmative action. It didn't mean I wasn't qualified. It meant that because of racism I never would have been allowed to compete on a more or less level terrain with white boys and white girls. And for me, for someone who has benefited so much from the opportunities of affirmative action, to stand at the gate and try to keep other black people out would be to be as hypocritical as Clarence Thomas.

And we in the academy have to know that our people, we, those of us who practice African American studies, have to know that our people are under assault. Newt Gingrich and company, that Contract for
America is serious. You know what those guys have said? 'All right, somehow, while we were asleep, all you white women and all you black people got into the middle class. We're not sure how it happened, but the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna shake the tree, and any of y'all who can't hold on, y'all goin' back. And the second thing, we're gonna set up barriers so that no more of you all can get in here.'

And what we're trying to do is end your mama and your daddy criticism, which is what African Americans, quite frankly, have mastered in for 250 years. We're also trying to end what we used to call the "One N***er Syndrome." You know, this place ain't big enough for more than one of us.

This book[The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life (ISBN: 0029146739)  by Herrnstein, Richard J. and  Murray, Charles  Free Press of Glencoe , Inc, Old Tappan, New Jersey, U.S.A., 1994.] is blacklisted in leftist circles  because it shows that when standardized test scores are sorted by race that blacks and Hispanics score much lower than whites and Asians. Thus, a refutation to this vast array of data must somehow be accomplished.

[15] I haven’t read this yet and probably will not after reading this op-ed. This observation occurs in classrooms all across the land in 8,000 schools but must be ignored for political reasons. This book destroys the concept of equality among the races.
