The Babbling Brooks of the NYT Manufactures ‘Dignity’ for Obama. A Farce Follows.

The Babbling Brooks of the NYT Manufactures ‘Dignity’ for Obama. A Farce Follows.

Abstract: David Brooks sets out on a sacred mission to bestow or prop up the illusion that Obama has ‘dignity.’ This obvious feint into the sticky political outer limits of realty must be from some editorial assignment, probably as a penance, to bolster the image of this monumental failure and Brooks has risen, so to speak, to the sordid task. A typical propaganda piece follows whereby the new candidate for dignity has his name intercalated among others from history with well-defined authentic dignity.  He is unconvincing and comical in his attempt.  B. Hussein Obama may be more properly associated with ‘judge’ Sotomayor, Pee Wee Herman, The Boston Strangler or Jack-O the Whack-O, a sordid collection of losers with whom we cannot use the word properly. Brooks only undermines his own credibility with a soggy load of crap like this.  This effort is intellectually equivalent to unplopping a camel in the hot sun.

As we peruse the NYT—aka the Walter Duranty Papers[1][2]--an obdurate  oddity of filtered   information and a rusty turn-of-the-crank Marxian siren,  heading for bankruptcy, we must always be prepared to suffer through missives and other literary mechanisms to get to the bottom line of their current propaganda message. They are all about leftist politics. The NYT can grant the proper social or economic solution to all known problems of society and will condemn all who would disagree with their findings. Today, our Chief Babbler David Brooks [3][4] [5] seems to gather his all for a mighty sortie on the political battle fields and, after digging through history, he can endow the Old Gray Lady with a heart-string plucking testimony to the shimmering dignity of a man who has none. Obama needs a boost or some tightening of his political truss straps and here, Johnny on the Spot is the NYT with a fresh propaganda piece to fabricate the required PR.[6]

Analysis of the method:

This is a name-association propaganda piece whereby virtues of known persons with some desired attribute are tossed around in a gossamer cloud of spice and light with bells ringing and, at a propitious moment, the name of the dolt is shuffled in the deck so as to give the reader the impelled conclusion that this bozo is among those who have this precious attribute. This is pedestrian and generally lower in quality than the average Sonnet of Adoration we read in the NYT for problematic characters of the left. We have read better from the Times.

We can watch David turn the crank for a while until we are bored to tears:

When George Washington was a young man,.. [7]-- In Search of Dignity By David Brooks Op-Ed Columnist July 6, 2009 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.][All quotes are from this link in this essay today unless otherwise indicated.]

Predictable.  How could he be so sophomoric?? Was this written for him? Is this in the top line of his mandated outline?

““Gordon Wood has written, “Washington became a great man and was acclaimed as a classical hero because of the way he conducted himself during times of temptation. It was his moral character that set him off from other men.””-- David Brooks July 6, 2009

And some more—lest I lose control and tire of this anguish and delete the whole mess:

Today, Americans still lavishly admire people who are naturally dignified, whether they are in sports (Joe DiMaggio and Tom Landry), entertainment (Lauren Bacall and Tom Hanks) or politics (Ronald Reagan and Martin Luther King Jr.).”-- David Brooks July 6, 2009

Where is Bill Clinton or Nancy Pelosi and why are they left off this list of naturally dignified persons??

Not to bore the readers with a rummaging exercise through the tombs of lost enterprise, we can just abridge Brooks conclusion at this point with this summation:

Americans still admire dignity. But the word has become unmoored from any larger set of rules or ethical system.

But it’s not right to end on a note of cultural pessimism because there is the fact of President Obama. Whatever policy differences people may have with him, we can all agree that he exemplifies reticence, dispassion and the other traits associated with dignity. The cultural effects of his presidency are not yet clear, but they may surpass his policy impact. He may revitalize the concept of dignity for a new generation and embody a new set of rules for self-mastery.“-- David Brooks July 6, 2009

Finally, we get to the end of this rubbish and can focus on the point: Obama has failed to deliver on any promises he has made to date like holding unemployment down  to 8% or less, lowering  or managing taxes for those who make $250,000 or less, ‘stimulating’ the economy, which is crashing and much  more. He spends like a Madoff or a Michael Jackson. He has done noting but honk and blow to the winds and now looks like a jerk.  He is an ideological racist who hates White Americans and blames the Anglos for the problems in this world and publicly blames us for all evils.  His most favorable comments seem to go toward our enemies like the maggot Hugo Chavez or the Russians or some Middle East Satraps who hate us and live greedily off oil revenues while financing terrorism with some of the loot. He will not condemn the maggots of the third world. He apologizes for us.

The Babbling Brooks frantically inserts, from the shadows, some manufactured observations about Obama that are non existent because he must redefine ‘dignity’ to make it fit the current political crisis. To think that a radical Neo-Marxist can embrace even some warped and mystical elements of ‘dignity’ when he sat for 20 years and howled and shouted at Whitey in the pews of Jeremiah Wright’s House of Hate. Racists now have some form of dignity?

From a previously edited blog:[8]

Senator Barack Obama told us about the typical white person’ and denigrates whites[9] for clinging to their guns and religion’ and escapes any accusations of overt racism by the left. Obama is an ideological racist, a bigot, an arrogant elitist and a racism enabler and all this welcomed by the rabid left as they grunt and grab at the tax base. He can listen to the rabid, racist howls of Jeremiah Wright and see nothing out of the ordinary.  He can explain all this. He cannot disown his pastor or church for what they  said. Then, he did.[10]

And:

"And it's not surprising then they [read Whites...ed] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."[11]Barack Obama off camera in what he thought was a safe environment to express his views.[12] [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

Where are the clichés about how a man chooses his friends?

He has always surrounded himself with undesirables like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright and now has his PR man Axelrod and Dead Fish Immanuel[13] [a hopeful ballerina with a stubby bird finger he lose while slicing meat at Arbys[14]] close at hand in the White House.[15] What a parade of dignitaries!

More celebrities with whom we can counter this screed and defeat t he NYT attempts to put Obama in with dignified persons [from a previous blog]:

‘He seems to have nothing to say about Cold Cash Jefferson[16], Good Time Charlie Rangel the Crook  from Harlem[17] or the ramblings of the mental midget Maxine Waters, a psychotic racist and cognitive peanut, who wanted to nationalize [socialize in her words] the oil companies:[18]And guess what this member* would be all about? This member would be all about socializing — er, uh. [Pauses for several moments] …. would be about … [pause] … basically [… taking over, and the government running all of your companies.” [19] Waters also fantasized about the CIA peddling drugs.[20] He did score with Henrietta Hughes, a welfare queen over a new house, but “she is not milking the system.”[21] Tribuo mihi quispiam nusquam.[22]More top talent.’[23]

By using the Brooks Propaganda Device of the Day, we can confidently metamorphose the definition of dignity to any extent to suit Obama’s warped character. Obama has the same kind of ‘dignity’ that we might give to Sotomayor[24], Pee Wee Herman, The Boston Strangler or Jack-O the Whack-O.

These people are all disgusting losers and incompetents.

All Brooks has accomplished with this screed is to unmoor his reputation.
