The Terminal Financial Psychosis of California as Seen Through a Green Lens

As a 5^th generation Californian from the 49er era, now in deliberate and unwavering exile, I now seem to witness, thankfully from afar,  the bright sun cook the brains of those who cannot find a suitable border to cross to escape the current malignant psychosis infecting nearly everybody in that state. Why aren’t they running? The end is in sight. There was a time when the Golden State led the world in innovation, novel wealth [gold!], ranching, entertainment and tourism. Those  daring pioneering people (and their descendents) are either long buried,  in rest homes, have succumbed to the tender retreats of drug addiction, alcoholism or lunacy as the remaining  humans who run that containment facility have lost the vision of California. The place is a mess now. Those who trudged across the plains in wagon trains were toughened by the movement and learned to  be resilient, innovative and to make a world for themselves devoid of the old world nostrums. They were also genetically filtered as they abandoned the limp, lame and assorted losers who remained ‘back’ East in the slums and tenements where they could stubbornly maintain or worsen the revolting social conditions like we find in Baltimore or Philadelphia that mirrored the social failures of London and Dublin. Much of San Francisco now looks like a seedy suburb of Mexico City.

The number of social problems that have buried the state in sleaze, sodomy and sedition are now surpassed in magnitude and quantity only by wild spending on nonsensical projects. Where once they could produce cotton or oranges or figs or oil, they are mesmerized by the asinine notion that by going ‘green’ they can actually become prosperous and lead the world out of the several looming environmental disasters. We now know that morality has been summarily tossed into the dumpster in many cities like San Francisco.[1] Vending machines now dispense dope and children are enthusiastically sodomized or enslaved in Asian massage parlors with a knowing wink and a nod from elected officials. The rest of us could handle this social disease, from remote, unless we reached a point where their antics directly impact those who rebuff the disgusting elements of California culture. We are at that point.  But, now, the state is threatening  our federal tax base and is influencing automobile design, use of fertilizer and pesticides and other items. They are crazy and going broke at the same time. They may infect us all.

Buffoonery knows no outer boundaries and political ‘leaders’ have no quantifiable limit as to how much nonsense they can  slip into their speeches, their bedrooms, boardrooms and, in Sacramento, where, one might think, reasonable laws are crafted and budgets are structured. The place is a madhouse.

It was easy to predict that California was heading for social and financial oblivion:[2] [3]They have no concern for a balanced budget. Their ability to reason and plan for the future  seems to depend on how many drugs they take. Their wild spending on ‘education’ and astronomically high salaries and benefits for the teacher’s unions and state employees  have bankrupted the state and produced a school system that ranks with the worst known in the Western Hemisphere just one click ahead of Washington, D.C. Their Marxian teacher’s unions have strangled the state in concert with the EcoNazis. The quest for tax money is now insatiable. The CA budget ‘process’ was a circus in Sacramento last summer and the ‘compromises’ and calls for spending cuts went unheeded so they floated some phony bond issue. Their social insanity and solemn barrenness of morality and reason are described in suitable [their] terms in this parody, written me:[4] They did manage to sooth enough suckers to buy their phony bonds in a wild attempt to remain solvent until about Feb 2009[5], but this is not working out as their bond rating resembles that of Somalia:

“SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California's budget deficit will reach $41.8 billion over the next 18 months, potentially forcing the state to pay it electricity bills and other expenses with IOUs if lawmakers don't solve the problem, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's administration said Thursday.”[6]-- California sliding toward $41.8B budget deficit 12.12.08 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

“The state already has lost its ability to borrow because of its fiscal mess. On Thursday, Standard & Poor's downgraded the state's credit rating on bonds it sold two months ago and placed more than $50 billion in state debt on watch for a downgrade.

California leads the nation in the sheer size of its budget gap, according to the most recent survey of states by the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Thursday's projections could leave the shortfall as high as 19 percent for the 2009-10 budget, based on California's current $144.5 billion spending plan.”

Now, how are they going to get around this? Take out your wallet or purse and stare into the folds to see if there is anything green there. Whatever you have--they need it. They will NOT cut spending because the unions control the legislature. Abandon hope if you live in California.

But, it does not end here. Just look at this wonderful and innovative program:

“Reporting from Sacramento -- California regulators adopted the nation's first comprehensive plan to slash greenhouse gases Thursday and characterized it as a model for President-elect Barack Obama, who has pledged an aggressive national and international effort to combat global warming.

The ambitious blueprint by the world's eighth-largest economy would cut the state's emissions by 15% from today's level over the next 12 years, bringing them down to 1990 levels.”[7]-- California adopts the most sweeping curbs on greenhouse gas emissions in U.S.

The sickness spreads. Here, while California is going bankrupt they launch a heroic crusade to save the planet from carbon dioxide, wildly exhaled by legislators in Sacramento themselves as they gush and whine about this phony nostrum. EcoNazis[8] have created this monster with phony lies and drooling politicians like the loathsome Communist stooge Al Gore and his crooked associates like the reptilian Nancy Pelosi[9] join in on the plunder of the taxpayers.

As a former senior scientist [6 patents, 25 research papers and 50 speeches and presentations[10]] for a major chemical corporation I reviewed the data they have and it resembles so much camel poop. There is nothing there and 21,000 of us have signed a petition[11] to that dismal idiot Bush [also a believer in Green] that refutes this nonsense. England just doomed their economy in a recent vote to lower carbon dioxide levels.[12] Their economy will be destroyed soon.

The new idiot on the block, O’Bozo, follows the Euro-Peons[13] down the rat hole.[14] He will out Hoover  Hoover by spending a trillion dollars on ‘infrastructure”—the same process that failed for both Hoover and F.D.R.  That trillion is $16,000 for everybody who makes more than $50,000 in the US.

This mindless bailout fever has shaken the nation as we now seriously think of some way to save General Motors, a company that has a mere 60 billion dollars worth of debt and no credit rating while remaining uncompetitive in the auto market that has fallen 45% in the last year and pays $70+ dollars per hour in wages and has 7 months of excess inventory. The greedy unions led by some revolting person named Guzzlefungler [or other person with that description] will not ‘give back’ anything because they spent $400,000 million dollars bribing the losers we send to Congress. They want to be paid for not making cars.

So, there you have it. California will crash into the financial latrine and will attempt to drag the rest of us down with them.  NY and NJ will sing the same song soon.

Bankruptcy is always an option! Let them go bankrupt!
