The ‘Scientists’ Models Fail Again. They Don’t know Why. EcoNazism Flounders but they Need Your Taxes.

The ‘Scientists’ Models Fail Again. Thet Don’t know Why. EcoNazism Flounders but they Need Your Taxes.

The Franciscan friar Roger Bacon[1] attempted to shift science and engineering from gratuitous adherence to the conclusions of the  ‘ancients’ by reasserting empiricism after studying some ancient Muslim texts on science. He aptly, in hindsight, recommended performing some serious scientific experimentation to search for truth.”[2] Of course, Aristotle had used his ‘deductive’ reasoning[3] and deduced the wrong answers to just about every topic he thought about except for politics, which is not based on truth but on persuasion.  As such Bacon is the Western father of the scientific method.[4] He shifted the scientific world away from Aristotle and his “arguments based solely on tradition and prescribed authorities” towards facts, laws and, finally success.

The scientific community then utilized empirical methods to discover laws and such to solve numerous problems in science and engineering. They built up a huge library of findings, data and facts and numerous new products and processes were produced from scientific laws.

Unfortunately, some of the methods used by pure science led to facts, firm physical science laws, government policies and conclusions that ran afoul of certain political views.  It was necessary to reestablish the roles of something resembling the ancient authorities in some innovative authoritative trappings so that political notions could be converted into scientific  ‘truths,’ inserted into the physical world via textbooks and ‘studies’  thus influencing the basis of new government policy.  We continue to be successfully educated that human embryos have gills. The only caveat here was that the new ‘truths’ must be such that sound  scientific research could not refute them or that ‘research’ on the matter by politically-motivated ‘scientists’ would emerge first with fanfare and whistles thus forcing expensive and time-consuming counter research to verify the claims. In cases where there were numerous ‘studies’ the handy retort to any inquiry was to hold the political flash card “some studies show...” Where there is a swamp of confusing and uninterruptible data then the need to do more research is mandated to fend off reason from interfering in the circus. Much science today is simple whoredom and any politically expedient scientific conclusion from a needed study is for instant sale especially with tax monies.

Thus, the caricatures of Lysenko, Mesmer, Ted Turner, Meryl Streep and Rachel Carson emerged as supreme authorities in certain narrow but well-defined areas of the physical world where the desired political nostrums could supplant or preempt proper science. Reason was discarded and political theories could rapidly predict physical outcomes and medical phenomenon such as chemical toxicity with ease. The practice of scientific ‘research’ was now a political exercise with the novelty that the desired political conclusion trampled upon all of the steps of any traditional scientific framework.

The usurpation of science was effected and smoothly enabled by mental freak show hucksters like Rachel Carson and authoritative writings like her maudlin screed Silent Spring.[5] She was    apparently sick in body and mind and lashed out in fury at some chemical substance that did no harm: DDT is not harmful to birds or anything else except mosquitoes and other obnoxious insects.[6]  Carson was able to demonize this molecule and blame it for numerous ecological and biological atrocities in nature.  She corrupted sound scientific work with her phony interpretation of scientific results and was able to convince ignorant bureaucrats like EPA administrator William Ruckelshaus to ban the substance.[7] Ruckelshaus later “admitted in a letter to the president of the American Farm Bureau Federation (April 26, 1979) that "..the ban on DDT was a political decision rather than a scientific one…"[8] It is interesting that the shift from science to politics was based on the fear that Africa’s  population explosion could not be prevented any other way so millions would be left to die by malaria. The political mandate here was that those babies should be "Rather dead than alive and riotously reproducing." [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.] Such is a typical outcome of cases where politics corrupt scientific findings and reason.

This bit of Carson pseudo science actually surpassed the political follies of Lysenkoism[9] [10], the wild magnetic healing machines of Mesmer[11] and reminds us of the wondrous works of wizard Merlin. [12] This stuff is phony, of course, and all attempts to ‘predict’ the future of natural resources, temperature and such have resulted in abject failure. The silly book: The Limits to Growth[13] used acomputer model’ that hilariously predicted we would run out of oil, copper and lead by 1992 and deplete our natural gas reservoirs by 1993.  These fools actually produced a revision of their ‘model’ in the 90s which was ignored. I had a great time discussing their predictions in an Innovation Seminar a decade or so back and they could not apologize for their errors and promised that they would correct the mistakes in their new book. I never bothered to read that book. GIGO. [14]

There is no scientific evidence that DDT is harmful to humans but that did not prevent the Carson Effect from polluting scientific studies and rational outcomes. Once this form of political corrosion of science was enabled the attack was on to stop production of things like saccharine[15], NutraSweet[16], organic chemicals of all sorts with ‘research’ funded by leftists in government.  I had a chance to review the Toronto Study on bladder cancer in mice that was passed around the Yale Medical School as an example of how not to perform experiments in pharmacology.[17] This ‘study’ was a disgrace to science and belongs somewhere in some freak show theatre on Coney Island where its amusement attributes might be of benefit to somebody before they befall sobriety.

Continuing on from my previous blog:[18]The flight from reason of liberals is based on the frantic quest for political power [read tax mongering here] and has elevated al Gore and his EcoNazis[19][20] to grand heights.  The alarm: There is so little time left to save the planet!  Al Gore has pledged he will eliminate the internal combustion engine and other anti-capitalist maneuvers to save the planet, or, in the immortal words of Ted Turner to ‘save us from cannibalism,” or words to that effect. No matter that their computer models and other feather and drum ensembles give the wr0ng predictions.  This is all politics and devoid of any science. It seems that 21,000 scientists, I among them [21], have refuted this garbage but Al Gore and his political minstrel show  players honk their kazoos and call for more taxes and bans on energy. They have nothing except our tax monies.

The Czech President Vaclav Klaus was ready to debate al Gore on climate change:

Washington - Czech President Vaclav Klaus said Tuesday he is ready to debate Al Gore about global warming, as he presented the English version of his latest book that argues environmentalism poses a threat to basic human freedoms. "I many times tried to talk to have a public exchange of views with him, and he's not too much willing to make such a conversation," Klaus said. "So I'm ready to do it."[22] [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

Al Gore refused. He thinks the ‘matter is closed.’

The phony scientists cannot stand to have their final conclusions questioned or their computer models tested as they know that the scientific basis is equivalent to shoe scrapings. Thus, they must keep silent and appeal to the political groups who need the money and could care less about the weather or the science. They cannot stand a review or even explaine why their predictions do not square with reality.

C. Edmund Wright comments on this:

When you understand this concept and examine the theory (also known as fact) that extreme environmentalism is a totalitarian ideology, it makes sense on many levels. Not the least of which are the resulting effects of totalitarianism or enviromentalism [sic] on free markets and more pointedly... the vast "coincidence" of the leftist and green movements' leaders. Apparently, inside The Beltway pundits have never bothered to even examine it. And they admit it.”[23]

Today’s opportune panic is focused on methane gas levels in the atmosphere. [24]So, now one of their computer models turns sour and they are frantic: Ignorant of the role of either carbon dioxide [CO2]or methane [CH4] they blindly assert that one level is compensating for the other in terms of global warming.

WASHINGTON, Oct 29, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The amount of methane in Earth's atmosphere shot up in 2007, bringing to an end approximately a decade in which atmospheric levels of the potent greenhouse gas were essentially stable. The new study is based on data from a worldwide NASA-funded measurement network.[25] Methane - The Greenhouse Gas Suddenly Shot Up in 2007 By Rachelle Oblack

Is the earth warming?[26]The embarrassment here is that the earth surface temperature is falling not rising in a direct contradiction to their ‘models’ and today a British group calls this ‘research’ a swindle”:

United Kingdom - A documentary film broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 in March, 2007 entitled "The Great Global Warming Swindle," reports a very different take on global warming than is being widely reported here in the United States. Graphs depicting data gathered by independent research scientists show that in every instance of recorded temperature change, there is a direct corresponding change in the sun's intensity. When solar activity goes up the Earth warms up. When it goes down the Earth cools. Are we being misled as to the true nature of global warming? And cooling? Is this merely a political ploy? These scientists provide evidence that may be the case.[27]-- British documentary cites science, sun responsible for both global warming and cooling.

Professor David Russell Legates[28] is the Delaware State Climatologist, and an associate professor at the University of Delaware.[29] He has debunked these phony politicians masquerading as ‘scientists’ who need research money to exist. His  convincing and hightly professonal presentation is devoid of leftist follies and  shows that this effect from the sun’s fluctuating radiation direclty correlating with known hot and cold periods from history.

So, the planet is warming so we have some Global Warming Follies and then the sun’s output decreases and we have to change this circus to Climate Change and when the methane models wander off into la la land we need to ‘study’ the matter and tax carbon. But we still need to tax and tax and tax [30] and the fruit loops in Parliament decide to trash their economy in despair.

Isn’t this exciting!

Now, bear in mind that if there is confusion this just means we need to fund more research and take some more of your tax monies.  Just to be safe, we need to create some huge Carbon Tax that will destroy our society and that will ‘prove’ that the oceans did not boil away and that tax was justified. Your phony leftist government in action!

But we can help save the planet with our actions!

Sheryl Crow has a single-sheet of toilet paper solution to anthropogenic global warming Climate Change.[31] We desperately need more high-level science from Sheryl Crow, Al Gore, Michael Moore, Ted Turner and other distinguished leftists. We need to double our taxes immediately and hire more ‘scientists’ to work their Ouija boards and howl at the moon. Drug addicts should be placed at the top of the list.

Now, Communism, Obamamania and Environmentalism are indistinguishable.

[4] Scientific method refers to bodies of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. To be termed scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable, empirical and measurableevidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.[1] A scientific method consists of the collection of data through observation and experimentation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.[2]

[7] A committee of the National Academy of Sciences wrote in 1970, "To only a few chemicals does man owe as great a debt as to DDT... Indeed, it is estimated that, in little more than two decades, DDT has prevented 500 million deaths due to malaria that would otherwise have been inevitable."

DDT was not banned because there was evidence it harmed wildlife or humans. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency administrative law judge who listened to 9,000 pages of testimony over seven months concluded, ""DDT is not a carcinogenic hazard to man... DDT is not a mutagenic or teratogenic hazard to man... The use of DDT under the regulations involved here do not have a deleterious effect on freshwater fish, estuarine organisms, wild birds or other wildlife."

Despite the findings of the EPA judge, EPA administrator William Ruckelshaus banned DDT in 1972. Ruckelshaus never attended a single hour of the seven months of EPA hearings on DDT. His aides reported he did not even read the transcript of the EPA hearings on DDT. Ruckleshaus was a member and fundraiser for the Environmental Defense Fund -- a group who -- according to a deposition in a federal lawsuit -- conspired to discredit the scientists who defended DDT.

[15]Many studies have since been performed on saccharin, some showing a correlation between saccharin consumption and increased frequency of cancer in rats (especially bladder cancer) and others finding no such correlation. No study has ever shown a clear causal relationship between saccharin consumption and health risks in humans at normal doses, though some studies have shown a correlation between consumption and cancer incidence.[14] Some of the animal studies were procedurally flawed.[15] According to tradegroup-operated saccharin.org, "Concerns over saccharin's safety were first raised twenty years ago after a flawed study that administered huge quantities of the sweetener to laboratory rats produced bladder tumors in rats. New and better scientific research has decisively shown that the earlier rat studies are not at all applicable to humans." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saccharin

England Votes 648:5 to Ruin Their Economy! A Lesson for California for Greatness

England Votes 648:5 to Ruin Their Economy! A Lesson for California for Greatness

The Vote:!!

Snow fell as the House of Commons debated Global Warming yesterday - the first October fall in the metropolis since 1922. The Mother of Parliaments was discussing the Mother of All Bills for the last time, in a marathon six hour session. [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

In order to combat a projected two degree centigrade rise in global temperature, the Climate Change Bill pledges the UK to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. The bill was receiving a third reading, which means both the last chance for both democratic scrutiny and consent.”-- Snow blankets London for Global Warming debate[1]

A comment:

The leaders of a containment facility for the mentally marginalized, that is populated by those universally known as ‘stupid Europeans’,[2] now waddle mindlessly into an economic swamp. This study in politics resembles something like the British horror freak show like 28 Weeks Later,[3] a preview of where England is steering. This flick trumpets a future place where some mind-destroying disease [in this case the Rage virus ] has infected the elected officials [MPs] and they exchange blows in the pubs  over the privilege to be the very first to have their brains eaten by vampires to the tune of Yellow Submarine as they roll ‘in the mud blood and beer.’[4]  These mindless jerk-offs–er—ah-- Members of Parliament--are now groveling for respect in the London  tubes and pleading for more Sharia Law for spiritual  guidance while bonding  in a festive quest for a proper but  sound thrashing from the Islamo-Fascists who now make policy in England. They now retire to the Isle of Dogs [5], the place where, along with the zombies from the EcoNazism[6] movement, they celebrate economic suicide. [There is some (optional) background on this virus below.]

An analysis:

I am personally thrilled! We rarely have an opportunity to see some settling of scores that force our enemies to ‘redress the sins of the past.’ We can all become engrossed spectators of this historic moment. Everybody, ranging from the victims of the Treaty of Nanking (Treaty of Nanjing)[7]to those who tried to reclaim the Malvinas [Falklands War][8]to the Boston Tea Party  activists and including those who foolishly invested in cold fusion, gets to contribute a string of tinsel and a note or two to this howling intermezzo. Suicide is painless. [9] This is great.

The salient economic fact that Great Britain has now solemnly voted to extinguish the last flames of their economic greatness and dive into the green latrine gives the rest of us some latitude. Of particular interest is their insistence that emissions controls be applied to shipping and aviation[10] and provides thousands of new jobs for bureaucrats. That will squash trade and provide an Economic Big Brother that will be more efficient that than either the Cheka or the Gestapo.

A comment from one of the few uninfected observers:

"As we destroy industry we'll be more dependent on shipping and aviation for our imports!" he said.

"When the history books come to be written people will ask why were the only five MPs... who voted against this ludicrous bill," he said. It would tie Britain up in knots for years, all for a futile gesture, Chope thought.

However, Tim Yeo, the perma-suntanned Tory backbencher who wants us to carry carbon rationing cards, said it would "improve Britain's competitiveness". He didn't say how.”

Little Timmy[11][12] here sounds like he spent some time in San Francisco.

Not to give the impression that I wax hypocritical and, more, not to even suggest that the US lacks a pathological rebuttal to this madness, I have California[13] to offer up for your consideration as a parallel case.  The left-coast types face an economic oblivion to match their Third World mentality, and this case, is offered as a study in parallel lunacy that needs to be celebrated and compared to the corresponding English Experience.  New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts follow.  California needs to be studied as an experiment in non-government and we can include England in this group of groupies.

With a self-inflicted severe shortage in energy bestowed upon the sane by the leftist zombies, those who still believe in capitalism need a price break. Hopefully, France and Germany will pass even more stringent legislation and trash their societies as well.  Not buying their crap because of shipping costs will aid us in business.   It is refreshing to see a fallen Tory become soaked in liberalism and debase his party in the UK. He reminds me of Lincoln Chafee, a cavalier of similar deeds who was cashiered by the voters in his state. This is a rare opportunity for one of the slowest players in the economic poker game to dump their chips into the cuspidor and retire in shame.

Conclusion:

Only goodness and mercy can evolve for the rest of the world’s economic community as a result of this stunning decision by Cambridge types to wantonly trash the English Empire.  What do the Irish think? They haven’t faced a loss of leadership of this magnitude since the Romans left in 400 A.D.  Only the Black Plague and the Invasion of the Normans could compare to the impending wreckage that this decision will have in their society. This will drive the FTSE down below 2000.

This is an economic variant of ‘going home[14]from the movie Soylent Green. The Soylent Green Syndrome may be the Green Solution for the hopelessness and despair in the degenerating societies of the EU. Why not just wander out to the football pitch and lie down and quietly rot in a pastoral gesture to the rodents and fowl?  Hopefully the California Assembly is closely watching this event. They have much to do to match this idiocy.  With sufficient drugs they can surpass this legislation. Let us wish them luck.

[Optional] Background on this madness:

Global Warming is crude pseudo-scientific quackery:

Here is a summary of my comments about the phony Global Warming by a former senior research scientist [me][15]: Here are some of my warnings:[16]

There is not a single piece of evidence that CO2, the main toxin and culprit in this fairy tale, correlates with changes in temperature. Indeed, the hottest years appear to have been from 1890 to 1040 way before the CO2 levels were seen to rise.

Professor David Russell Legates is the Delaware State Climatologist, and an associate professor at the University of Delaware.[17] He has debunked these phony politicians masquerading as ‘scientists’ who need research money to exist. Integrety is lost in the scientific community and quack science abounds. The thread on Salon.com  entitled The Politics of Quack Science II has detailed discussions on the subject.[18] The incoherent apoligies of the left are recorded here.

There is NO BASIS for this folly except the opportunity to tax the public and gain control of the government and the tax base.

The global warming follies have been condemned by 21,000 scientists[19] [with my signature too] and we must all understand that this is just ugly, gutter-grade grunt and grab politics and has nothing to do with science.

[18] The Politics of Quack Science II “Modern politicians have learned to utilize the 'expert' to amplify and lend some credence to their political goals. Science, once considered a true, accurate and just occupation, has been polluted with quacks, soothsayers, frauds, quislings, bunko artists and slavering fools like any other social endeavor. Ohio Big Brother is Watching Joe the Plumber II : Government [Left-Liberal Democrats?] Are on His Case.

Ohio Big Brother is Watching Joe the Plumber II : Government [Left-Liberal Democrats?]  Are on His Case.

Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher's driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.

Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.”[1]-- Government computers used to find information on Joe the Plumber October 24, 2008

Apparently somebody pulled his driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle and info and  other stuff. [2]

Paul Lindsay, Ohio spokesman for the McCain campaign, attempted to portray the inquiries as politically motivated. "It's outrageous to see how quickly Barack Obama's allies would abuse government power in an attempt to smear a private citizen who dared to ask a legitimate question," he said.

Isaac Baker, Obama's Ohio spokesman, denounced Lindsay's statement as charges of desperation from a campaign running out of time. "Invasions of privacy should not be tolerated.  If these records were accessed inappropriately, it had nothing to do with our campaign and should be investigated fully," he said.”

Is our government that sick?? Who is this Nancy H. Rogers and is she a Democrat??

There is some frantic hunt for dirt on Palin and Joe.

This is America? Not the one I used to know. Much of this place in North America is a toilet now.

Udate:

Read this slop:

"Given our understanding that Mr. Wurzelbacher had publicly indicated that he had the means to purchase a substantial business enterprise, ODJFS, consistent with past departmental practice, checked confidential databases ," she [Helen Jones-Kelley]wrote.[3]

"Not surprisingly, when a person behind in child support payments or receiving public assistance is receiving significant media attention which suggests that the person appears to have available financial resources, the Department risks justifiable criticism if it fails to take note and respond," Jones-Kelley wrote.”-- Helen Jones-Kelley

Jones-Kelly also has denied any connections between the computer checks on Wurzelbacher and her support for Obama. She donated the maximum $2,500 this year to the Obama campaign.”

The Dispatch has uncovered four uses of state computer systems to access personal information on Wurzelbacher, including the child-support check authorized by Jones-Kelley.”

No politics here! No sleaze! No dirt digging!

Obama’s Tax Income Limit: 250, 200, 150 and Going Down. Plugs and O'bozo Must Both Be Lying.

Obama’s Tax Income Limit: 250, 200, 150 and Going Down. Plugs and O'bozo Must Both Be Lying.

Where did the $250,000 number come from? Oh! Here June 13:

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Democratic Sen. Barack Obama on Friday called for higher payroll taxes on wage-earners making more than $250,000 annually, a step that would affect the wealthiest 3 percent of Americans[1]-- Associated Press Friday, June 13, 2008[Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]

 And again:

What I’ve said is I want to provide a tax cut for 95 percent of working Americans, 95 percent. If you make more — if you make less than a quarter million dollars a year, then you will not see your income tax go up, your capital gains tax go up, your payroll tax. Not one dime.[2]—Obama in the McCain/Obama Debate Oct 15, 2008.

Okay, and from the Tax Policy Center, here is how Obama's tax plan breaks down for individuals:[3]

$0-$18,891 = $567 tax cut
$18,982-$37,595 = $892 tax cut
$37,596-$66,354 = $1,118 tax cut
$66,355-$111,645 = $1,264 tax cut
$111,646-$160,972 = $2,135 tax cut
$160,973-$226,918 = $2,796 tax cut
$226,919-$603,402 = $121 tax increase
$603,403-$2.87 million = $93,709 tax increase
$2.87 million-plus = $542,882 tax increase

“"Senator Obama has made a lot of promises," McCain said.  "First he said people making less than $250,000 would benefit from his plan, then this weekend he announced in an ad that if you're a family making less than $200,000, you'll benefit — but yesterday, right here in Pennsylvania, Sen. Biden said tax relief should only go to "middle-class people — people making under $150,000 a year." You getting an idea of what’s on their mind. A little sneak peek. It's interesting how their definition of rich has a way of creeping down.”—McCain speech

To deal with our current emergency, I’ll launch a rescue plan for the middle class that begins with a tax cut for 95% of working Americans. If you have a job, pay taxes and make less than $200,000 a year, you’ll get a tax cut.”” Obama Oct 28, 2007.

 Video here: http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_biden_tax_plan/2008/10/28/145070.html

 But Plugs sez:

Spreading the wealth is not something [Obama] is talking about, Biden says. “All the tax breaks have gone to the very, very wealthy. For example . . . under the old tax policy that was put in by George Bush, people making an average of $1.4 million a year — good people, decent people, patriotic — they’re going to get an $87 billion tax break,” Biden explains.

Now, I thought I heard Obama say:

Barack Obama told a tax-burdened plumber over the weekend that his economic philosophy is to "spread the wealth around" -- a comment that may only draw fire from riled-up John McCain supporters who have taken to calling Obama a "socialist" at the Republican's rallies.”[4]

Is this that complicated? Are they lying?

What we’re saying is that $87 billion tax break doesn’t need to go to people making an average of $1.4 million. It should go . . . to middle-class people — people making under $150,000 a year.”

Plugs Speaks:

 http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_biden_tax_plan/2008/10/28/145070.html

I distinctly hear Plugs promise this  tax cut to all who make less than $250,000:

"Read my lips," Biden [this is the guy Plugs ed] said, using Bush's famous phrase while referring to a Barack Obama administration. "Nobody, nobody making less than $250,000 is going to see a penny of their taxes go up."[5]Biden in an incoherent rant at some county fairgrounds near the campus of Ohio University in Athens on Oct 15, 2008.

As Obama and Biden have always said, under their plan no family making less than $250,000 will see their taxes increase one cent,” Wade said in a statement. “If your family makes less than $200,000 — as 95 percent of workers and their families do — you’ll get a tax cut.”-- Biden spokesman David Wade

Well, that makes me feel better if it is true.  Why can’t they get the number straight?

It gets complicated as we read here:[6]

 Now, we read:

The Biden campaign later clarified -- or at least tried to clarify -- the matter by saying that anyone making between $150,000 and $250,000 wouldn't get a tax cut but also wouldn't pay higher taxes.” Wall Street Journal Oct 29, 2008[7]

I guess I am confoozled here. I was promised:

"Nobody, nobody making less than $250,000 is going to see a penny of their taxes go up."[8] This seems to have changed.[9] [10]

Perhaps this is just so much corn hole spray from the leftist parasites who pollute my party.  The Tax Whores seem to be thumping their thongs and playing Three Card Monty[11] with the voters.  Is Plugs playing the Rubber Stooge here? He soars beyond reality often. His inability to handle simple numbers confirms his lack of integrity, the deterioration of his limited neuron set and highlights his plagiarism and cheating during law school at Syracuse.

 The WSJ sums up here:

Just as Bill Clinton [The Cigar Ceeegar Diddler, ed.[12][13]] promised a "middle-class tax cut" in 1992 only to raise taxes on the middle class in 1993, Mr. Obama will quickly find that his tax-revenue math doesn't add up. Add in the demands on Capitol Hill to spend more and to offset the Alternative Minimum Tax, and our bet is that even $150,000 would soon prove to be a moving tax target.”

Slick Willie was a chronic liar, a lying low-life a Marxist Stooge and a parasite who was surrounded by crooks.  So we expected him to sleaze hisself and promise anything to get elected.  Perhaps Obozo was trailed by the same mole group in the Kremlin. Is Obama as slimy as Clinton?

 The Facts from the WSJ:

An Obama Administration couldn't possibly pay for a tax cut for 95% of Americans by raising taxes on a mere 5%. Those 5% don't make enough money, or at least they won't after they find ways to shelter more of their income when their tax rates rise.”[14]

We have to realize that federal tax revenues will crash as investors who want to avoid capital gains taxes will sell and clear the tax liabilities and next year the capital gains  loses will subtract from tax returns.  The expected high unemployment will also lower tax revenues.

I think it is clear that there is no way to cut away all taxes for those in the lower 95% and this offer of a ‘tax cut’ for the middle class is just a putrid lie and a political  paddle to whack the stupids who drool on their shoes as they mechanically vote Democrat.  They voters really are that dumb.

These liberals are such scum. They have no honor, morals or credibility. These two slugs have slithered down to the gummy levels of Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Chuckles Schumer, Nancy The Reptile Pelosi and Willie Horton.

Why am I not surprised at this?

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 III: Defense against Our Hateful Government may be Necessary.

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 III: Defense against Our Hateful Government may be Necessary.

There is convincing evidence that we are entering a massive decline everywhere in our economic world and we are now entering a major economic depression in the next few months.[1]  [See footnote 1 for The Great Depression in the USA 2008 I, II[2]].  The Fed is out of options as it will today lower interest rates down near 1% or so. Its open market operations have not done much and this phony TARP $700 bln dollar rescue is doing little. The salient fact is that such interest rate decreases have done nothing to affect the falling prices means that is not effective and cannot affect the dismal outcome. Even the New York Times—aka the Walter Duranty Papers [3]  hints at this in an article by Paul Krugman, the least qualified person ever to receive a Nobel Prize:[4]

There is much more to think about in this world. We now face a Crisis in Confidence in our government. Nobody believes that our leaders are much more talented than random samples of camel plop.  Bush is a failure and has provided the ultimate excuse for those who hate capitalism to get a chance to ‘change’ the world as Obama suggests. They are going to get their chance to do just this.

Obama [a dedicated Afro-Leninist[5]] is surrounded by a pack of simpering slugs like Barney Frank, The Repulsive Reptile [6]  Nancy Pelosi , Ted Kennedy, Chris Dodd, William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright[7][8], Louis Farrakhan, the low-brow criminals in ACORN and greedy criminalistic Hispanic supremacy groups like La Raza, La Mecha[9]:

"…as Mechistas, we vow to work for the liberation of Aztlan[10]." They are militant, Marxist and their official icon: ”is an eagle holding a machete-like weapon and a stick of dynamite.”[11]

Then there are NCLR and MALDEF, wild praise and enthusiastic endorsement from Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and the Communist Party USA[12] and there are the Islamo-Fascist terrorists such as Hamas.[13] Obama has strong support and a probable 200 million dollar link with terrorists along with grass-roots telephone work by activists like Palestinian Ibrahim Abu Jayab, 24, who makes cold calls from some Gaza refugee camp.  Obama is a bosom buddy and ideological puppet for the hate-twisted terrorist advocate Rashid Khalidi and the LA Times has some evidence on some party they attended that they will not release. [14]He has $600,000,000 dollars in campaign funds [that we know of] and much of the sources are known, but the Middle East is obviously the beneficiary of any Obama Administration as they will if Samantha Power[15] has any inputs.[16]  Hotdog [“Plugs”] Biden[17], the Buffoon, will be set aside as an incompetent gaff master and fruit loop. He cannot compete with Samantha in intellectual terms.

This group has nothing but hatred and contempt for us and our society. They despise us.

Obama, or any ordinary criminal, drug addict, parasite or bum is blindly supported and celebrated in infected social containment facilities like San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York City[18] and other havens for illegal aliens, criminals, drug-crazed perverts, hookers, Code Pink operatives and worse. California’s major cities are now just financial drains[19] on our society and beg for alms as the Golden State crashes into financial oblivion.[20] The philosophy of the far left in San Francisco is given here[21] in satire. The facts are delineated in the response to this fever.[22]

The shrunken remnants of Europe are prostrate and mired in debt, inefficiency, Marxism, Socialism and hoards of Islamo-Fascisti who want to transform their societies with Sharia Law.[23] James Carville threatens the voters with a race riot if Obama loses.[24] Europe’s political architecture has been corrupted by the terrorists.  The cowardly Spanish grovel and whine at the feet of their masters and vote accordingly.

It is important to realize that our government may be controlled in toto by hate-twisted leftists and perverts who have only our worst interests in mind. They want our wealth [attacks on our 401(k) are now in progress] and control over our economy and banks.

We must vote them out wherever we can and then think about other survival options.  We must first set up defenses against high taxes and bank failures.  We must plan for our businesses to cut costs and discharge marginal employees and illegal aliens. Things are going to get rough if Obama is elected and certain aspects of the 60s era leftist-inspired ‘civil disobedience’ might be implemented in such a crisis.  We may have to defy our government. A deep depression in the world is nearly a certainty.  Tax revenues will plummet as businesses fail and banks go down in runs. When the unemployment rates soar in the inner cities then riots and violence will prevail but these are the very people who voted for Obama and he will not prevent them from looting those in the suburbs and rural areas.  Remember Cambodia and Cuba? There is not enough money anywhere to adequately fund housing, food and energy for the cities if the economy fails.  What can Obama do? Put 10,000,000 of his loyal subjects in jail? The Obama ‘redistribution of wealth’ can happen in many ways other than mere punitive taxes so we have think about things like mass confiscation of our wealth, banks, guns and real estate.  Some think this cannot happen in America. We never had ugly experiences such as: a revolution, several revolts, a brutal civil war, two world wars, race riots, a crushing depression and border wars. This is America, or it used to be. It can’t happen here![?]

We may ‘elect’ a hateful and vengeful government in November.

The Babbling Brooks of the NYT Babbles about Decision Making [?!] and Perception?

The Babbling Brooks of the NYT Babbles about Decision Making [?!] and Perception?

As we read the NYT—aka the Walter Duranty Papers[1]-- we must always be prepared to hear about grand visions and new progressive leftist theories and to be serenely cued-in by informed slants on the political activities of our times. Problems or any sort must always be solved by government, as we are relentlessly instructed, in order to fulfill the grand social designs of the left. Such comments and conclusions are tautologically supplied daily by the New York Times and today, unexpectedly, we are treated to a theoretical essay on ‘decision making’ by the Chief Babbler David Brooks[2]  and conservative ‘token’ who pretends at objective journalism at the Old Gray Lady. Let us see what we are offered by the new discussion on ‘decision making:’

Roughly speaking, there are four steps to every decision. First, you perceive a situation. Then you think of possible courses of action. Then you calculate which course is in your best interest. Then you take the action.[3]-- The Behavioral Revolution By David Brooks  October 27, 2008 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]This link references all quotes in this essay unless otherwise stated.

Trite. A bit rough for those who analyze, but let us proceed.

“Over the past few centuries, public policy analysts have assumed that step three [your best interest. Ed.]  is the most important. Economic models and entire social science disciplines are premised on the assumption that people are mostly engaged in rationally calculating and maximizing their self-interest.”

Are we missing some political history  on demagoguery here?

It is clear in politics that the use of fear, racism, intimidation, threats and the offer of money or power for your political support are well-known and accepted method, cronyism, outright bribes with tax monies and such strongly influence the decisions of voters and other victims. Nobody ever thought that voters are making independent and calculated choices based on the ‘facts.’ This is lunacy.  When was the last full moon?

 Off we go!

“So perhaps this will be the moment [because of the looming depression and mass unemployment world-wide. Ed.]when we alter our view of decision-making. Perhaps this will be the moment when we shift our focus from step three, rational calculation, to step one, perception.”

Well, so far we have watch Brooks snarl the definitions of decision making in the political arena and have learned that these decisions must be based on perception, whatever that might be. Did Brooks realize that ‘politics’ is defined as decision-making in Wikipedia?[4]

There must be some exciting new adventures in semantics or asymmetric reasoning waiting for us! Eagerly we wait:

“My sense is that this financial crisis is going to amount to a coming-out party for behavioral economists and others who are bringing sophisticated psychology to the realm of public policy. At least these folks have plausible explanations for why so many people could have been so gigantically wrong about the risks they were taking.”

To support this mélange of clichés, jungle temple rubbings and echoes from Allen Ginzberg, Brooks cites some ‘economists”: Amos Tversky, Daniel Kahneman, Richard Thaler, Robert Shiller, John Bargh  Dan Ariely and Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

Taleb[5] believes that our brains evolved to suit a world much simpler than the one we now face. His writing is idiosyncratic, but he does touch on many of the perceptual biases that distort our thinking: our tendency to see data that confirm our prejudices more vividly than data that contradict them; our tendency to overvalue recent events when anticipating future possibilities; our tendency to spin concurring facts into a single causal narrative; our tendency to applaud our own supposed skill in circumstances when we’ve actually benefited from dumb luck.”

Gee, didn’t Immanuel Kant cover this ground a while back? I think the Democratic party benefits from dumb voters. The Republicans certainly do.

The rationalists felt that truth emerged in the mind and was then seen to be reflected in the world around.  The empiricists took the opposite view and felt that truth dwelt in the world around but could be observed and extracted by the mind.  Kant suggested that the mind already held fixed ways of looking at things and that the observed world was fitted into these fixed ways.”—Section on Immanuel Kant in THE GREATEST THINKERS by Edward de Bono, a NYT best seller 1976.[6]

Now, we see the overload lights blinking on the Babble Meter:

If you start thinking about our faulty decision-making, the first thing you realize is that markets are not perfectly efficient, people are not always good guardians of their own self-interest and there might be limited circumstances when government could usefully slant the decision-making architecture (see “Nudge” by Thaler and Cass Sunstein for proposals). But the second thing you realize is that government officials are probably going to be even worse perceivers of reality than private business types. Their information feedback mechanism is more limited, and, being deeply politicized, they’re even more likely to filter inconvenient facts.”

Now, that is stunning. We rarely see triple-reverse circular logic in the raw.

We have to dig deep to find what Our Babbler is babbling about. Somebody got lost here. Brooks submissively produces the mandated word government in his little propaganda piece for the Times, but seems to have garbled the predetermined conclusion by implying that the decisions by  government officials may be worse than guessing and random decision making.

Gee, that was a tough one. I think The Babbler should have submitted his rough draft to Paul Krugman who would have corrected most of his spurious thinking here.  Several weeks of political reeducation courses are indicated as a condition for continuing employment in this newspaper. To think that government is not the solution to all problems, particularly economic, is heresy.

Government decisions, choices for individuals in finance and investing are chaos processes and we all need to recognize that.  Nobody knows how to invest with certainty and no government has been successful in engineering a suitable society outside of fiction. Read Animal Farm, get some dice and vote out leftists if your vote has any value. The Fountain of Youth has not been discovered yet, we can prove, as nobody seems to escape death. Where is my astrologer?

 Wow! That was deep.

 My conclusion:

The ultimate goal of liberalism is to gnaw away at the wealth of others[7] using the tactical mechanisms of rodents and certain diseases like leprosy or cancer and ‘redistribute the wealth’ so as to achieve ‘equality.’ But, as the author George Orwell of Animal Farm[8] wrote: “All pigs are equal but some pigs are more equal than others…”  The Liberal Pigs now define who is equal and just how they are more equal. They now sit in judgment of how your wealth must be spent.” [9]- The Great Tax Rip-off: The Pigs Shovel Your Tax Money into the Great Liberal Latrine by rycK-

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 II: Warnings from the Past and Present

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 II: Warnings from the Past and Present

There is more than a chance that we will have a major economic depression in the next few months.[1]  See footnote 1 for The Great Depression in the USA 2008 I.  A casual reading and some research on the following shrieks from some of our government leaders begins to make one wonder at the timing of this disaster. Bush does not know what to do and his stooges [Paulson and Bernanke] are awash in frantic attempts to stuff money into the society by intimidating the 9 biggest banks.

 Read this crap:

So, is deflation a threat to the economic health of the United States? Not to leave you in suspense, I believe that the chance of significant deflation in the United States in the foreseeable future is extremely small, for two principal reasons…[ignore the rest—he guessed wrong][2]-- Deflation: Making Sure "It" Doesn't Happen Here.  Remarks by Governor Ben S. Bernanke Before the National Economists Club, Washington, D.C. November 21, 2002

 Now think about this:

But it was a meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in September 2006 that earned him his nickname Dr Doom.

Roubini told an audience of fellow economists that a generational crisis was coming. A once-in-a-lifetime housing bust would lay waste to the US economy as oil prices soared, consumers stopped shopping and the country went into a deep recession.

The collapse of the mortgage market would trigger a global meltdown, as trillions of dollars of mortgage-backed securities unravelled. The shockwaves would destroy banks and other big financial institutions such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, America’s largest home loan lenders.”[3]-- Sunday Times [London] October 26, 2008  about Nouriel Roubini

Sound like fact? Did this happen and were the blunders he outlined actually the known factors that are crushing our economy now?

People who have been totally blinded and wrong accusing me of getting the timing wrong, it’s just a joke,” he said. “It’s a bit pathetic, frankly. I was not making generic statements. I have made very specific predictions and I have been right all along.” Quote From Nouriel Roubini  in The Sunday Times Sunday October 26, 2008

Europe is less than broke in societal, moral and financial terms.  We could join them any old time and now the HUNT IS ON for Wealth and that means your 401(k)s and other assets.

Now, O’Bozo  slithers  back from the past with a call for ‘redistribution of wealth’” Listen this crap:

Here is the sputtering defense of his Marixsm by Plugs the Disgrace who makes Delaware look like Somalia:

Even Plugs, the gaff-gaggling familiar [thought to have once been Baloney Joe Biden], bobs and nods in obsequious compliance with this fluff.[4]

Everybody happy with the thought that we have some slavering Marxist about to be elected to any high office in the US while we face a nasty depression?

Yes. Liberal Democrats are thrilled right down to their sticky thongs.

Vote out Democrats and get to T-Bills………………

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 I: Advice and Caution for Survival

The Great Depression in the USA 2008 I: Advice and Caution for Survival

There is more than a chance that we will have a major economic depression in the next few months. A casual reading and some research on the following shrieks from some of our government leaders begins to make one wonder at the timing of this disaster:

Here is an April fool’s day assessment from the Brits:

“…in the fiscal year starting in October, 28 million people in the US will be using government food stamps to buy essential groceries, the highest level since the food assistance programme[sic] was introduced in the 1960s.”[1]

Okay, we are past recession time[2] and heading toward some worse place so we can ask:

Where the smart money is going today?

Most of the smart money went sailing off with the sales and shorts  of Fanny Mae, Bear Stearns, Morgan Stanley, WaMu and other disasters.

With many investors terrified of the stock market and afraid to touch anything but U.S. Treasuries, investment advisers are trying to steer clients into bonds that are paying higher interest, while still light on risk – the safest municipal bonds and high-quality corporate bonds.”[3]-- Gail Marks Jarvis Chicago Tribune Posted: Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]This link references all following quotes in this essay unless otherwise stated.

We all know that taxes will soar for everyone if Obama is elected so avoiding taxes is a must. Investments must be structured so as to avoid government interference in certain markets. Free market forces are destroyed anywhere the government blunders in. The government abetted this phony Zero-down mortgage mess because government-threatened lenders could dump their trash willy nilly and silly upon the decaying corpse of Fanny Mae and stick the taxpayers. This is no longer an option.  5 million illegal aliens hold nonperforming mortgages at this time and most will vote for Obama.[4] There is no control on spending now as Barney Frank informs us.[5] His spending feast is now wildly encouraged by the New York Times—aka the Walter Duranty Papers [6]  who weekly criticized Bush for budget deficits but now want to swamp us in massive debt. He is after your money. They used to call the Republicans the Tax and Spend Party and now they will show us records in unsurpassed spending and stupefying debt while the taxpayers, from $42,000 and up will pay the bills.

Here is an option:

Shorter-term bonds can be even more attractive. For example, a California[7], unlimited tax general obligation bond that matures in 2012 is yielding 4.2 percent. A comparable Treasury is at 1.95 percent.”[8]

This is a trash-grade issue (not viewed as such because of the cowardice and political groveling by outfits like Moodys who cannot seem to identify losers anymore) like the very ones discussed earlier[9] since California is going bankrupt. [10] But the thinking here is that the Fed will waste your tax money on saving California by the huge unauthorized debt mongering circus now foaming over in Washington and will make good on this junk for political reasons[11] if the drug-crazed left liberals in Sacramento fail to cut spending and default. It would be better for the planet if we studied the ethical and financial collapse of the Golden Rotten State as they disintegrate because they are socially and morally bankrupt.[12]  We might learn some new things about government from the negative aspect. The spending and EcoNazism[13], drugs, havens for illegal aliens, celebration of non-violent crime and worse are all openly supported by the state with no regrets and this alone will bring down the state.

The reasoning on this option:

For investors in high tax brackets, the benefit of the muni is significant. Investors don't have to pay federal income tax on municipal bonds, so if you mix the tax savings in with the yield of the California bond, an investor in the 28 percent tax bracket would have to find a Treasury yielding 5.83 percent to do as well as in the municipal bond. Someone in the 33 percent tax bracket would have to find a Treasury yielding 6.27 percent.”[14]

And, that is about 13% for somebody soon to be in the 66% tax bracket, which is the case for business owners and executives.

This option, one of the very few, is worth considering while keeping in mind that if too much money is tax shielded then the leftists will open their giant maw and glom onto whatever they can get from that avenue to ‘redistribute the wealth’ or “spread something around” as Obama preaches like we”spread around” AIDS and lunacy in San Francisco. As Rush notes this is trickle up poverty.[15]

This idea is worth trying for a while, but T-bills are better if you don’t need much taxable income. Gold prices are falling, as expected in a deflationary period, and we must wait to buy more gold until inflation starts up as the idiot government runs the money printing presses at lightning speed. Then, a shift to gold is indicated because we could first have 3 years of -5% to -10 % deflation and then have 15% to 300 % inflation as newly printed currency floods Main Street.  This high inflation [hyperinflation] number is justified by the fact that there is no way to deal with the potential massive debt of 20 trillion dollars [7X current tax revenues but only 2X our current debt] unless inflation of a million fold truncates the debt down to insignificant levels.  Our government is pouring trillions of dollars into bad debt, banks who don’t need [or even want] the cash and unknown places around the world.  They are trying to buy ownership in the banking sector—a group, largely, who is wisely defying them at this time. They are working ‘credit swaps’ or ‘credits’  that are, some believe, some phony kind of insurance  ‘deal’[16] with foreign nations whose currencies  are already in the collapse mode. We don’t have a clue what they are doing but it looks like Treasury is trying to save Europe and Asia with our money.  Back in 2007 there were comments like this by US bankers:

One banker said: "The attitude is 'don't show me anything east of a [New York] 212 area code.' If you lend to [those banks], it could be a career-ending experience."[17] -- From the Financial Times, London Sunday, August 12, 2007

Germany showed us the way to economic oblivion in the last century and we might review their history[18] as we watch Obama and his drooling leftists destroy our society from the corporations down to the last soggy cardboard box in some alley.

Europe is less than broke.  Here is a frank discussion on by a German academic cited from 1998.
