California Plays Three Card Monte with Taxes and the Budget: Get the hell
out of the state.
California, the Golden State and land of opportunity, predicted to
crash in a blizzard of debt, is besotted with sleazy slimy liars
who are thought to be politicos along a wide assortment of mental rejects with
half-way house visions and the following is given as proof:
Here is a ‘fix’ for the 15.2 billion deficit budget:
“The reason is that — unnoticed by all but
insiders — one controversial piece of the budget has much less support than the
rest of the package. In a bit of legislative legerdemain, lawmakers took up separately a bill that would boost payroll
withholdings from workers early in the year, and then return the money in the
form of a tax refund the following year. The move would generate $1.6 billion.”--
Schwarzenegger digs in by Mike
Zapler
How close is 1.6 to 15.2? Is this the new math from UCLA?
In a
previous alarming blog,
I postulated that the psychotic grab for loot in this containment facility for
losers would begin when the Golden State turned brown. The ‘budget’ in California is a joke. Government in California is now even a bigger joke in the world
political community. They propose some kind of shell game whereby taxes are
collected in one year and promptly refunded the next year—a scheme that seems
to ‘balance some portion of the budget’ or
whatever. This kind of progressive thinking is used by winos on Columbus in SF or Pico Blvd and this piece of sterling logic
is probably sourced by a drug-crazed sage or soothsayer in a North Beach alleyway or LA flop house.
The numbers and the numbers games:
“They have a $104.3 billion budget with a $
15.2 billion deficit and $ $7 billion in spending cuts.
Having passed high school in that
state I am at a loss to see what the problem is. In a progressive society, this
amounts to only
a $ 7.2 billion dollar deficit and the unreasonable and antisocial
law that prevents the state from deviating from a balanced budget with no more
barrowing is trivial.”—from my previous blog.
Could we
be so politically
incorrect as to ask the following question: If you pull off this
accounting stunt for one year then for the next year is this 1.6 bln savings
going back into the deficit?? What happens next year? Is the 104.3 bln budget perhaps
25 or 30 too much?
A quote from some ‘Republican’
from Fresno, the country’s biggest poor house:
“"He's moved the ball 10 times," Assembly Republican leader Mike
Villines of Fresno said afterward. If Schwarzenegger continues down his current
path, Villines added, "It would blow up everything."
Here is the Financial Freak show
in theatre:
“Assembly Speaker
Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) pointed out that previous
budget proposals with reform measures the governor backed died because he
couldn't get any Republican legislators to support them.”-- [Emphasis is mine in
all quotes. This link references all
quotes in this essay unless otherwise noted.]
No politics here:
"But Governor
Schwarzenegger was not able to produce a single vote - and the people of
California were hurting - so we stepped in to pass a compromise budget
that, while ugly in many aspects, at least buys us
time to make progress on the real reforms we need," Bass said in a
statement.”
Now, what
‘reforms’ are we talking about? The state has too many employees and too many
phony social programs and Bass cannot think of cutting any of them. Where is
the “reform” here? Higher taxes?
“She added that those reforms include eliminating the two-thirds vote
required for a budget and overhaul of how the state brings in revenue, though
Republicans, including Schwarzenegger, have called for a spending cap,
rainy-day fund and other reforms.”
Isn’t it
true that if they drop the 2/3 voting mandate that the Dems, soaked in Marxism, drugs and illegal aliens,
can pass anything they want? How about voting out Prop 13 and hiking property taxes—the old Bolshevik theme. Let us
punish the capitalists!
“Her GOP
counterpart, Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines (R-Clovis), said his
caucus shares Schwarzenegger's goals but conceded they wouldn't happen this
year”
Well, somebody is apparently thinking or mumbling about thinking
about thinking.
"In short,
lawmakers did what the Governor asked," Villines said in a
statement. "We came out of our ‘ideological corners' to pass a budget compromise that restores funding to vital services depended upon by
our state's most vulnerable population."
Temporarily
shifting tax revenues and then giving them back must be some form of compromise in the parlance of the Golden
State.
“In the state
Senate, both Pro Tem Don Perata (D-Oakland) and Republican Leader Dave Cogdill
(R-Modesto) said the governor's move was
shortsighted, with Perata saying the governor's veto would give him a starring role in the state's financial disaster.”
Government
in the state has been a disaster since Willie Brown took over.
This
mental facility is a leftist microcosmic experiment for the rest of us to
study. The facts here show that there is NO INTENTION of instituting even any
slight or limited form of fiscal responsibility by the drooling left here.
Apparently, the Neo-Marxists cannot step up to the plate and announce that California needs a hefty $4 or $5 dollar gas
tax
or perhaps double sales taxes to ‘solve’ this problem. Perhaps California will take economic lessons from
the Europeans.
Taxes and confiscation of property and wealth are the old, proven Soviet
solutions to ‘peace’ and helping ‘the poor.’
It is
important that we study the mentality of these social parasites
who parade as elected officials in this ruined state. They are not stupid- but they are violent and
perverted and they have nothing but your
taxes and wealth to plunder. Such a disease
as they have must not be permitted to infect the rest of the country except for
New
York and New Jersey, who have elected inmates from
the same loony bin to ruin their states. The results of these studies and
observations need to be broadcasted far and wide to the voters to illustrate
what the ignoranti have in mind for our incomes and private property. The lefties have some plan here and will not
divulge it. Why not recall Arnold? That worked for Grayout Davis.
When will Pelosi ask
for a bailout of CA?? That makes socialist sense.
Duh! Vote
in Gavin Newsom for governor!
If you have anything in
terms of wealth or property or a high income then get out of California—fast. Bass and her
allies will use the votes of illegal aliens to vote your wealth away from you
and form a new Marist State.
