California Crumbles as Paralyzed Politicos Pass Some Phony Budget: Arnold Will Veto This Wreckage.

California Crumbles as Paralyzed Politicos Pass Some Phony Budget: Arnold Will Veto This Wreckage.

In a previous alarming blog[1], I postulated that the psychotic grab for loot in this containment facility for losers would begin when the Golden State turned brown. The ‘budget’ in California is a joke.  Government in California is a bigger joke. Here is the proof.

Here is the situation starting with the mandate to accept the current budget:

Karen Bass, the Democratic speaker of the California assembly, said she was about "95% certain" that lawmakers would be able to muster the two-thirds majority necessary to override the governor's veto. The bill passed 28-12 in the state Senate and 61-11 in the Assembly.”[2]-- Schwarzenegger Vows to Veto Budget  by Nick Wingfield And Justin Scheck  [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.  This link references all quotes in this essay unless otherwise noted.]

Okay, pass what?

They have a $104.3 billion budget with a $ 15.2 billion deficit and $ $7 billion in spending cuts.

Having passed high school in that state I am at a loss to see what the problem is. In a progressive society, this amounts to only a $ 7.2 billion dollar deficit and the unreasonable and antisocial law that prevents the state from deviating from a balanced budget with no more barrowing is trivial.

The facts from a nonbiased source:

Jean Ross, executive director of the nonpartisan California Budget Project, said the compromise budget "fails to acknowledge that our tax system doesn't bring in the revenues to pay for the services that voters want." She added, though, that Gov. Schwarzenegger's requests for future reforms are misdirected.

"He's looking for changes that would permanently ratchet down investments in public services," she said.”

Notice a few things here from the nonpartisan mumblings: There cannot be any reduction in public service.

Well, there you have it! Cuts are not allowed! The passed budget must have required Republican votes to pass and this number must include at least 6 Assembly Republican votes.”[3]

But, how did it pass? Did a Republican or two ‘cross over’ the aisle? Do we have a roll call on this?

The obvious solution to the problem, federal funds, has been omitted from this psychotic blather. When will they pander to politicians from other states to satisfy their addictions to money, fun in the sun, sloth, drugs and San Francisco-style ways of living?

The other way, the favorite of Paul Krugman, would be to simply raise taxes! Why not raise income and sales taxes?? Tax hikes lead to prosperity. [4][5][6]

I cannot wait until they stumble upon the obvious solution to their problems.

[All they have is your money and they need more than you have. Think about that.]

They need to take some more drugs and consider a healthy tax increase. Heck, the t ax rate in Sweden is 70% and they live in splendor!

Tax California into Prosperity!
