Krugman of the NYT Waves off His Perpetual Non-Economics Theater and Gets into Personal Attacks.
The New York Times—aka the Walter Duranty Papers [1] has a 90+ year history of apologizing for Communism, World Wars started by leftists, the USSR, Cuba and their interminable endorsement of far left political types who would run for high office in the United States. They always have praise for any left-liberal tax whore who wants to raise taxes and increase regulations and will condemn any politician that is even moderately to the right. In desperation, the krugmaniacal non-economist of the Times casts away his phony eco-habit and gets into mud slinging, an endeavor more suited to his training and persona. He senses that the election, once again, is lost.
In today’s screed, after filtering out the froth and foam, we read something like this:
“What’s the source of all that anger?”[2]-- The Resentment Strategy By Paul Krugman September 4, 2008 [All quotes references this link in this blog unless otherwise noted. [Emphasis is mine in all quotes.]
This is a mechanical literary mechanism that is found in many writings of the political world where a question is answered that nobody bothered to ask. Here, Paul Krugman sifts through the speeches and appearance of Republican leaders and finds anger against the left. Really? What for? The murder of 25,000,000 babies by butchers, the selling out of our military and support of the militant Islamo Fascisti? The wanton tax whoring? The stonewalling of the oil supply schedule? The hatred of corporations, the ones who bring us all the good jobs?
Yes, all of the above. Here the names of Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and erratic flashbacks to Richard Nixon are used in the negative sense purely for attack reasons. Ms. Palin seems to have choked off coherent discourse by the Times. They fume.
He sums up here:
“What the G.O.P. is selling, in other words, is the pure politics of resentment; you’re supposed to vote Republican to stick it to an elite that thinks it’s better than you. Or to put it another way, the G.O.P. is still the party of Nixon.”
Here is the elitism:
"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."[3]—Barack Obama off camera in what he thought was a safe environment to express his views.
That was not a Republican who said that.
This is the old bogey man story where current events are compared to some monster troll who lived under the political bridge of olden times and devoured well-meaning liberals with a single gulp. This is a fine example of hackneyed thinking, the hallmark of the leftists.
Some background on the Troll:
“One of the key insights in “Nixonland,” the new book by the historian Rick Perlstein, is that Nixon’s political strategy throughout his career was inspired by his college experience, in which he got himself elected student body president by exploiting his classmates’ resentment against the Franklins, the school’s elite social club. There’s a direct line from that student election to Spiro Agnew’s attacks on the “nattering nabobs of negativism” as “an effete corps of impudent snobs,” and from there to the peculiar cult of personality that not long ago surrounded George W. Bush — a cult that celebrated his anti-intellectualism and made much of the supposed fact that the “misunderestimated” C-average student had proved himself smarter than all the fancy-pants experts.”
This is so stale and sour it may attack the porcelain as the lever is actuated. There are many reasons to be angry with the left:
[1] Nancy Pelosi[4] is a disgusting parasite who is trying to terminate the War on Terrorism at the expense of our liberty, safety and military personnel as she coddles his Marxist massage parlor allies.
[2] Harry Reid is an obstructionist whose mission is to stall on everything and hope the economy and war are both lost.
[3] Al Gore, a Communist Stooge and EcoNazi, has lead the world’s greatest quest for taxes since the Roman Empire with phony and embarrassing charts on global warming that had to be radically relabeled as ‘climate change.’[5]
All the leftists have is your tax money and they see it slipping away again:
The liberals have hoped for a sinking economy and a major loss in the War on Terrorism and they harp on these two themes like two metastatic tumors search for their target organs. We must look carefully at the taxes and spending the leftists offer the voters to show that they cannot possibly have growth, retire any of the debt or even collect the necessary tax revenues at our current levels. Tax hikes generally return fewer dollars and people just make the proper adjustments to investments, costs and income. These socialist fruit cakes offer only promises and goodies and freebies with no way to pay for them except higher and even higher taxes. That alone will sink the economy. [6]
And, yes we expect anger and frustration from the left as they see their only source of power embedded in the hands of an Afro-Leninist[7] who spent 20 years as a pew stooge in some racist ‘church’ where Black Supremacy was taught with loud amplifiers and racism was the topic of the day every day. Jeremiah Wright was his saint.
As the worm usually turns to the opposite side, we find the New York Times on the flip-side of this flop-house screed where they are the angry ones.
“By selecting Barack Obama as their nominee, the Democrats may have given Republicans an opening: the very qualities that inspire many fervent Obama supporters — the candidate’s high-flown eloquence, his coolness factor — have also laid him open to a Nixonian backlash. Unlike many observers, I wasn’t surprised at the effectiveness of the McCain “celebrity” ad. It didn’t make much sense intellectually, but it skillfully exploited the resentment some voters feel toward Mr. Obama’s star quality. “
This is all frog wash. O’Bozo’s high-flown eloquence comes in a bottle from Harvard and if the cork is inserted to cover the moldy scent of stale Marxism he stutters like a San Francisco crack whore on LSD. The Nixonian backlash is obvious, predictable and more than reasonable since Obama is a dedicated Communist with decades of training by Frank Marshall Davis[8], his ‘mentor’ and the Communist Saul Alinsky. Senator Obama’s ‘experience’ is limited to running for office and his work in ‘organizing’ in the slums of Chicago for the criminal organization ACORN where his views were shaped by Saul Alinsky, and William Ayers[9], who is famous for saying "I don't regret setting bombs...I feel we didn't do enough."[10] Throw in Jeremiah Wright and we can wonder just who trained this guy and where his loyalties lie.
Why should the right be angry about any of this? It just fine that some wanton Commie tax whore destroys our economics. That we should all welcome.
Krugman closes with a full left twist:
“But the Democrats can’t afford to be complacent. Resentment, no matter how contrived, is a powerful force, and it’s one that Republicans are very, very good at exploiting.”
They ought to be resentful of the right—the juggernaut that crushed the soggy dreams of parasites like Lenin and Marx. They have no hope for maintaining any society in a decent manner without threats, inflation, war, murder, and worse.
Palin is now their worst fear and they will spare no sleaze in attacking her. They have yet to experience the horror.
The editors at the New York Times must lost their faith and hope by publishing this.
