Save the Witches!!

Save the Witches!!

We must depend upon the New York Times, the Walter Duranty Paper of choice[1], and the ubiquitous leftist ragzine who provides us with advanced lessons in propaganda and occasionally gives us a few laughs. Today, we get a big laugh from one of the Times’ least cognitively endowed writers: Nicholas D. Kristof who writes that climate change kills witches!! In a hilarious article that draws from the outer fringes of sophistry, the inner depths of contempt of reason and  sprinkled with bits of idle imagination we read musings like this:

Here’s a forecast for a particularly bizarre consequence of climate change: more executions of witches.”[2]

Now, we have to wonder if this is good or bad.

In rural Tanzania, murders of elderly women accused of witchcraft are a very common form of homicide. And when Tanzania suffers unusual rainfall — either drought or flooding — witch-killings double, according to research by Edward Miguel, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley.” [Emphasis is mine.]

This Edward Miguel joins the algore EcoNazi Circus[3] [4] [5] as some form of obscure bug catcher or perhaps a magic liniment sprayer who can confiscate the psyche of little minds like our author at the New York Times and inundate our society with tears of sorrow and stoke the fires of contempt for capitalism, the (obvious) cause of the demise of certain witches. Does our tax money pay for the ‘jobs’ of these people?

Is this witch downsizing some kind of rural justice? Are there local laws that allow witches to be eliminated from the tribes?  Could this be natural law? The killing of witches[6] might just be part of the moral relativism[7] that is an intrinsic element in primitive societies in Africa, India and parts of California. Maybe this is part of their religion or culture and we should be tolerant. We shouldn’t criticize their beliefs and actions. Besides, how do we know that things might get worse if we suffer the witches to live? This practice may actually be a wonderful prophylactic jewel from the primitive cultures in terms of pest eradication.

There is evidence that European witch-burnings in past centuries may also have resulted from climate variations and the resulting crop failures, economic distress and search for scapegoats. Emily Oster, a University of Chicago economist, tracked witchcraft trials and weather in Western Europe between 1520 and 1770 and found a close correlation: colder weather led to more crackdowns on witches.”

But, won’t global warming help the poor witches? What happened to the warming part of global warming?

Let us blame the US and industrialized countries:

The greenhouse gases that imperil Africa’s future are spewing from the United States, China and Europe. The people in Bangladesh and Africa emit almost no carbon, yet they are the ones who will bear the greatest risks of climate change. Some experts believe that the damage that the West does to poor countries from carbon emissions exceeds the benefit from aid programs.”

No carbon is emitted in Africa? What about the cows and termites and other creatures? Methane is carbon some would admit. Some UN report said that 18% of all green house gases came from cow flatulence[8] and this was bigger than man-made contributions from industry and cars and such. Termites were implicated in this horror as well. Do termites have some bias against witches?

I think the author here did a boo boo here and maybe even repositioned the truth a little bit for political effect.

So let’s remember that the stakes with climate change are broader than hotter summers or damaged beach houses. The most dire consequences of our denial and delay may include civil war — and even witch-killings — among the poorest peoples on earth.”

I wonder how many civil wars we had before the use of petroleum and coal?? What caused them?

We again thank the New York Times for some amusement

[1] In honor of Stalin, Walter Duranty. “ He said that these people had to be "liquidated or melted in the hot fire of exile and labor into the proletarian mass". Duranty claimed that the Siberian labor camps were a means of giving individuals a chance to rejoin Soviet society but also said that for those who could not accept the system, "the final fate of such enemies is death.". Duranty, though describing the system as cruel, says he has "no brief for or against it, nor any purpose save to try to tell the truth". He ends the article with the claim that the brutal collectivization campaign which led to the famine was motivated by the "hope or promise of a subsequent raising up" of Asian-minded masses in the Soviet Union which only history could judge.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Duranty

Murder in the Cities: The Triumph of Liberalism.

Murder in the Cities: The Triumph of Liberalism.

Here is our legacy of left-liberals governance in some of our biggest cities. In 2007 we had a mere 3,569 murders in our big cities led by liberals.

We lost 4000 soldiers in Iraq in 5 years and here we lost about 5 x 3,569 or about 17845 in our own liberal-led and supported cities. Can we wonder just who the mayors are here? Detroit leads the murder rate in deaths/100,000 population with 48. Philly is third behind the Chocolate City at nearly 38.

Is this not a triumph of liberalism?

Who thinks it is safe to go into Philly or New Orleans? Why are decent people still living and working in these places?

How is ‘education’ working out in these cesspools? How many of these murders are committed by illegal aliens or 3,4, or 10 time losers who were let out of jail by some liberal judge?

Why don’t we raise taxes in these cities and buy some more ‘education’ for these spaces and eliminate crime and sloth and drug addiction?

Let us all pay for a new ‘program’ to eliminate murders!

Your tax monies at work.

Political Lessons from the Fairy Tales by the New York Times: Propaganda at Work.

Political Lessons from the Fairy Tales by the New York Times: Propaganda at Work.

There was much fluff and fervor over the Hillary Clinton sob stories about Trina Bechtel and her battles with health insurance. Clinton took this as a cause célèbre to evoke sympathy, tears and loads of tax money from the upper half and to show he had compassion and all that liberal hokum.

Well, the ‘story’ Hillary heard was a bit phony [1] [2] and the hospital challenged her account of what really happened. Embarrassed, she had to drop the drip.

Clinton is well known for her use of alternative truths.

However the New York Times, the proud remnant of Walter Duranty’s Legacy of Marxist Propaganda [3]has decided to tell us that the essence of the story was illustrative. That is translated to mean that the lie was just fine if it could persuade some more tax whores to punish taxpayers.

The NYT chief non-economist tells us the meaning of the story is a typical glubberance in an article entitled Health Care Horror Stories by Paul Krugman.[4]

Here be the hokum:

You may think that this was an extreme case, but stories like this are common in America.”[5]

Let us think about the word stories here.

Finally, while it’s true that hospitals will treat anyone who arrives in an emergency room with an acute problem — and it’s wonderful that they will — it’s also true that hospitals bill patients for emergency-room treatment. And fear of those bills often causes uninsured Americans to hesitate before seeking medical help, even in emergencies, as the Monique White story [a second glubberance not quoted here, ed]  illustrates.”[6]

The point:

But are they really preventable? Yes. Stories like those of Trina Bachtel and Monique White are common in America, but don’t happen in any other rich country — because every other advanced nation has some form of universal health insurance. We should, too.”[7]

And most stink as in the USSR, Italy and Cuba.[8]

We extract various elements of just about any sad story, mould it into a three act tragedy and make that an excuse to implement some more big government so things will work out like the Pentagon, HUD or Social Security or the Postal Service. Sure. How about some more federal welfare?

Here is the save:

In fact, Mrs. Clinton was accurately repeating the story as it was told to her — and it turns out that while some of the details were slightly off, the essentials of her story were correct.”[9]

Well, that makes it okay!! This is standard propaganda based on the demagoguery variant. The facts are not important—only the outcome: bigger government and higher taxes.[10]

And even more important, Mrs. Clinton was making a valid point about the state of health care in this country.”[11]

Let us all mumble about valid points!

Could we make similar valid points about illegal aliens burdening our emergency rooms and pushing out our citizens? Could we wonder why the D. C. Sniper was allowed to get into this country? Could we wonder how much damage the dope business has done to our society and also wonder why the drug-crazed lefties want to legalize narcotics and weed?? Gee do we need laws against murder, dope peddling and illegal immigration? Not according to the New York Times.

Here, in the best tradition of Walter Duranty who made up all kinds of wonderful stories about the USSR and had them published in the New York Times we find a politically twisted lie magically transmutated into a ‘political point.’

Tautology and propaganda are the only skills at the New York Times as we have seen in the past. [12]

The Leftists Bawl for Grain-Based Fuels and the Prices Rise and they Bawl About the Prices.

The Leftists Bawl for Grain-Based Fuels and the Prices Rise and they Bawl About the Prices.

There are numerous mental afflictions that haunt our society, but none more difficult to deal with than liberalism and its many self-inflicted backlashes. The drooling leftists in a constant state of despair over the rising carbon dioxide levels that will kill us all and force us into cannibalism according to Ted Turner have demanded fuels based on crops instead of fossil remains. For the simple minded, this looks like a great opportunity to fix a non problem at high cost and get the government involved in the details. A series of woeful glubberances[1] were presented to the world to make grains into alcohol to fuel our cars.

It would seem that a simple inspection of the laws of supply and demand might have guessed this would happen, but the tears and blubbering and sobs drowned out reason and market forces and now we have food shortages and high food prices. The slitherants who proffer these phony edicts and assessments then bawl over the economic backlash as we read in, as usual, the New York Times, the Walter Duranty [2]Paper.

In an article entitled Grains Gone Wild[3], the Times’ noisiest non-economist waxes economic for our amusement.

Over the past few years the prices of wheat, corn, rice and other basic foodstuffs have doubled or tripled, with much of the increase taking place just in the last few months. High food prices dismay even relatively well-off Americans — but they’re truly devastating in poor countries, where food often accounts for more than half a family’s spending.” [All quotes here have my emphasis and refer to the article Grains Gone Wild unless othwise indicated.]

Why did this happen?

How did this happen? The answer is a combination of long-term trends, bad luck — and bad policy.”[4]

Bad policy?

“First, there’s the march of the meat-eating Chinese… Second, there’s the price of oil… Third, there has been a run of bad weather in key growing areas.”

“Where the effects of bad policy are clearest, however, is in the rise of demon ethanol and other biofuels.”

Oh, and in case you’re wondering: all the remaining presidential contenders are terrible on this issue.”

Even Obama?

“We also need a pushback against biofuels, which turn out to have been a terrible mistake.

But it’s not clear how much can be done. Cheap food, like cheap oil, may be a thing of the past.”

But, didn’t the NYT and other notables such as Ted Turner and Sir Richard Branson endorse such plans with pomp and circumstance and the approval of Bill Clinton?[5] [6]

Ted Turner, one of the progenitors of 10-figure philanthropy with his $1 billion pledge to the United Nations in 1997, called Sir Richard’s plan a “brilliant move,” both as an investment and as a way to protect the global environment.”[7]

Didn’t somebody  make the necessary [ very simple and elementary] calculations before and assess the reali9ty of this move and publish it in the New York Times?

Why,  yes, here it is:

ҦOne acre of soybeans can produce 50 gallons of biodiesel fuel.

¶There are 427 million arable acres in the United States.

¶The average American driver uses 464 gallons of gasoline a year and there are 198 million drivers in the United States.

All of which means:

¶"Arable acres needed to make enough biodiesel: 1.8 billion."[8]

Is this effort actually the reverse of what the EcoNazis want? [9]

All this was obvious, but the political thrusts frequently transcend reason and produce the opposite result as we saw in the Great Society, busing, increased spending in ‘education’ and other foibles.

Duh?!

So, our non-economist in a krugmaniacal burst of illogic tells us:

But it’s not clear how much can be done. Cheap food, like cheap oil, may be a thing of the past.”

How about drilling and producing more oil, since the phony Global Warming is a joke and there is no evidence burning fossil fuels contribute to any adverse effects on this globe??

Oh! We have to be politically correct even if food prices soar and the cost of biofuels will be 50% or more higher than ordinary gasoline an diesel!!

We can always depend on the New York Times to offer us the worst possible paths forward in any economic or social problems. Here is the current proof.

We can now have both expensive food and expensive auto fuels. That is wonderful, indeed. Let us all thank the drooling lefties who conjured up this mess.

There Is No End To The Tax-Whoring By Climate Control Lunatics.

There Is No End To The Tax-Whoring By Climate Control Lunatics.

When will this phony climatic change circus stop?? We have seen algore and his EcoNazis try to tax the world with trillions of dollars in phony ‘carbon footprint’ credits and other scams. All this proceeds despite the evidence that carbon dioxide levels have nothing to do with climate change. The phony climatologists, disguised as ‘scientists,’ but actually only leftist anti-capitalist tax whores, will do or say anything to get money for their own aggrandizements.

21,000 scientists, including this writer, have signed a petition stating that his climate change effort is phony. [1] [2] The earth’s temperature actually fell last year in direct conflict with the predictions of some phony ‘scientists’ who are just political lackeys.

We need an end to this phony political grunt and grab scheme. These people are simple parasites and need to be exposed.

And they Whine On about Socialized Medicine.

And they Whine On about Socialized Medicine.

We can rely on the New York Times to scrounge the secret rusty places in the bottoms of every dumpster in New York City for a hint as how to present a glubberance[1] to the politicians as how to implement socialized medicine. Using Cuba[2] as a sterling model, spending only $230 per person per year, we are treated to round number 349 from the Walter Duranty Papers [3]on how this budget buster ought to proceed.

The harangue continues from the usual source: Krugmann, the krugmaniacal non-economist from the Times in an article entitled [4] Voodoo Health Economics. His articles always attack capitalism and conjure up heaps of abuse for the greedy while appealing to emotions just so as to get the worthless federal government to control our health care system. We can wonder what else they can do properly after looking as the Pentagon, HUD, Great Society, welfare in many variants, ‘education,’ and Social Security. From that list we might assume that government might be a failure in administrative terms. It turns out that the ONLY thing our government can do is tax, and that is the basis of leftist power in the work and the only power they really have.

The current sputum:

It’s about time someone said that and, more generally, made the case that Mr. McCain’s approach to health care is based on voodoo economics — not the supply-side voodoo that claims that cutting taxes increases revenues (though Mr. McCain says that, too), but the equally foolish claim, refuted by all available evidence, that the magic of the marketplace can produce cheap health care for everyone.” [Emphasis is mine in color and such in all quotes in this article.][5]

This is so old that it must be inscribed on several Egyptian tombs. The clarion call for tax hikes is the only solvent scheme in Krugman’s screeds. Given the histories of the JFK tax cuts, the Reagan Tax Cuts, and the Bush Tax cuts, the evidence is ignored in the hope that some simpleton will buy this lie. Of course no Marxian drooler worth employing as a ‘writer’ in any Soviet Rag would accept market forces in lieu of a command economy. Stalin drank the best wines when he headed that kind of grunt and grab group. The Clintons are worth $50,000,000 dollars and are fine examples of compassionate liberals.

For one thing, even if you buy the premise that competition would reduce health care costs, the idea that it could cut costs enough to make insurance affordable for Americans with a history of cancer or other major diseases is sheer fantasy.”[6]

Strange. Competition cut costs and prices in telephones, cars, TVs, computers and many other facets of capitalist economies around the globe. I wonder if Paul Krugman has ever taken a course in economics?

And the international evidence on health care costs is overwhelming: the United States has the most privatized system, with the most market competition — and it also has by far the highest health care costs in the world.”

It is also the very best and if we want to cut costs by 25% we can take the slimy lawyers out of the cost structure. Look at how John Edwards got his loot: channeling a dead baby in front of the jury! How about that for a cost-cutting suggestion? What is the cost of 15,000,000 illegal aliens using our system for free? How much is that?

As I’ve mentioned in past columns, the Veterans Health Administration is one of the few clear American success stories in the struggle to contain health care costs.”[7]

As a vet, I have to say that this is a joke. The VA has consistently reduced the number of patients by simply truncating eligibility with punitive means tests and confined their constituents only to the destitute. They refused to treat me. Their facilities are crap [Elsmere, Philly Brooklyn], their doctors are second rate, facilities are shabby and they frequently cannot speak English. The VA is a sick joke like most governmental programs. It ranks down there with HUD or the efforts to control the borders: utter failure.

Worse yet, Mr. Obama attacked his Democratic rivals’ health plans using conservative talking points about choice and the evil of having the government tell you what to do. That’s going to make it hard — if he is the nominee — to refute Mr. McCain when he makes similar arguments on behalf of such things as privatizing veterans’ care.”[8]

This is pedestrian-level rubber-stamping leftist propaganda. For liberals, mere drooling stooges who prostrate themselves under the statue of Lenin, there is no substitute for higher taxes and more government. The sobbing continues.

Tautology and propaganda are the only skills at the New York Times as we have seen in the past.

Nothing has changed.

Slick Willie Freaks Out!!

Slick Willie Freaks Out!!

From the LeftCoast we read in one of their sordid rags:

It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.

"Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that," a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted[1]

Hot!!

It appears than an old Clintoonery supporter [Richardson] peeled off a few inches of skin from the Slick One and one of Billy’s truss straps might have snapped in agony.

Comments from the stoogery what done listened to his tirade:

“"It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended," one superdelegate said.”

“"It was very, very intense," said one attendee. "Not at all like the Bill of earlier campaigns."”

The worm has turned and the automatic Coronation of the Queen Bee hailing 8    more years of Clintoonery has now turned brown and sour

Still, word of Clinton's blast shot all the way back to the New Mexico state Capitol, where Richardson spokesman Pahl Shipley reiterated Tuesday that his boss had never "promised or guaranteed" Bill and Hillary his endorsement.”

Oooops! Somebody lied!!

The long-awaited decay of Clintoonery is underway using what they used best: treachery and sleaze.

Down the tube…

The Old Red Lady Waxes Dramatic and Characterizes Hillary

Maureen Dowd—aka The Old Red Lady [for several reasons]—has again failed to blindly support the Democratic ‘choice’ of the New York Times, the favorite propaganda sheet of Walter Duranty[1] and other dedicated fellow travelers. It seems that those who are allowed to think for themselves, a mistake in leftist terms, drift away in certain matters where some ‘choice’ is proffered and choice is not mandated.

In her current article The Hillary Waltz [2] the Dowdy Dowd is a bit testy when she comments on Clintoonery with things like this;

Hillary is cruelly misunderstood, and she deserves more credit for her benevolence. Not only does she have a lot in common with Rocky, as she said Tuesday in Philadelphia, but she has a lot in common with another famous character — the Marschallin in Strauss’s bittersweet comic opera “Der Rosenkavalier.” [Emphasis is mine in all quotes that reference the NYT in this article][3]

This is satire.[4] Actually, Hillary’s cruelty is completely understood, especially by her victims. Let us seek some substance:

Whether or not she wins, Hillary has already given noble service as a sophisticated political tutor for Obama, providing her younger colleague with much-needed seasoning.”[5]

We must presume that Obama has actually learned [or unlearned?] some lessons from the Clinton Machine. This remains to be demonstrated.

Cui bono?

Besides coaching Obama, Hillary is also shielding him. If she had not fibbed about the Tuzla airport landing, and then fibbed to get out of a fib, the press would have stayed focused on Wright. She has been an invaluable lightning rod.”[6]

More satire.

This was an idiosyncratic episode based on her Saul Alinsky and Eldie Acheson training in college and is merely a reflexive response to anything non-Clinton, anything to the right of Lenin or whatever has a trace scent of testosterone.

Obama has been less adept at absorbing the lesson of Hillary’s metamorphosis from entitled queen of the party to scrappy blue-collar mama.”[7]

Getting close…………

Hillary’s work is done only when she is done, because the best way for Obama to prove he’s ready to stare down Ahmadinejad is by putting away someone even tougher.”[8]

Now, we get down to substance: Hillary is NOT done and cannot stare him down. Obama can only wait for the sleazy superdelegates to muzzle the radical Marxist in skirts, an insult to democracy, after they have wallowed in self-pity and fear and yield the tilt yard to some half-black with a 100% liberal voting record. That will lose the election and Hillary and Obama both know that. The other option is for Hillary to tell Obama he will lose the white backlash votes in Pennsylvania and other redneck states if he run, and the blacks will sit out this outrage and that will lose the election as well.

There are two ways to lose here and the Times has chosen to endorse both depending on which staffer your read.[9] [10]

Confusion in the enemy camp is frequently worth a host of cavalry.

Stale Ideas fromDruggies from the NYT: They Whine and Whine and Need Deportation

Stale Ideas fromDruggies from the NYT: They Whine and Whine and Need   Deportation

The drug-crazed zombies of the LeftCoast continue to whine and whine about breaking the drug laws and much else. They seem to think that we do not have a major drug problem in this country that is celebrated by degenerates such as Tim Leary, Allen Ginsberg or their shrunken ghosts.

We pack a million felons into the slammer each year as the lefties whelp and whine and bawl and want the laws changed, but have no comment as to the burden on our healthcare system, lost taxes on phony drug rehab and incarceration factors. They want to feel good and want the taxpayers to subsidize this disease.

My experiences in 1965 in the drug-whacked dung heap of San Francisco is full of memories of hippies laying in the gutters, shivering before a   candy machine fumbling with coins and begging for alms and overdosing in the theaters and alleyways. The Carl Sagans who argue for      legalized are just simple hop heads and their legacy is one long brown streak.

Today we read the usual fecosymbiotic ramblings from the New York Times, the Walter Duranty Papers [1]in favor of letting the druggies run through the streets and howl at the moon for relief. In an article entitled Fresh Ideas for a Tired Crusade By Timothy Egan we hear the old moans of some bozo he knows or dreamed of in some lost weekend in Weedville.

He looks at the 800,000 Americans arrested every year on marijuana charges and wonders why the waste of time, money and lives. Year after year, nothing changes, except the faces of those in jail. He thinks marijuana should be decriminalized, and that drug use in general should be treated primarily as a health issue — as the Canadians, the British, the Swiss and others do.”[2]

Switzerland’s NeedlePark attracted druggies from all over Europe and Amsterdam has more than one street when bums lie in the gutters next to the canals. That was a great place to become introduced to drug addiction, get a swell case of AIDS and overdose in the part with your sexy friends. We can learn a lot from the Europeans who murdered a mere 100,000,000 people in the last 100 years. They have a fabulous history of social antics.

Along with sodomizing children, promulgation of the ecstasies of AIDS and incest, the leftists who inhabit the lower cracks in our society moan for their self indulgence and offer nothing to fix their problems.

Drugs are stronger than people and the drugs will win the battle for their souls.

This is just a fact. The notion that weed blowing does not lead to the use of crack or    crystal meth or other forms of smack is a sick joke. There is no recovery from hard drug addiction and the leftists want us to pay for their addiction, pay for their antibiotics and other pills and let them lie in the gutters, create some spectacular accidents with cars and trains and be forgiven with fresh tax monies to service their addictions.

As usual, the leftists just offer us more failure. It is too bad we do not use the PRC solution for drug addiction. I would offer a compromise: Get a one-way ticket to Cuba or other rat hole and blow your week and snort your dreams over there. Nobody cares about these degenerates except for greedy Democrats who need the votes and tax money for phony counseling jobs.

Deport druggies…….
