Comments on: Clinton Aide Mark Penn: Obama Can't Win
We read this startling point of order in all this frenetic disorder in the political arena today.
““We believe fundamentally that [Pennsylvania] provides a very significant test of who can really win the general election,” Penn said.
“We believe this will again show that Hillary is ready to win and that Senator Obama really can’t win the general election.”[1] [all quotes are from Ref 1 and emphasis is mine. ]
This comes from the salient point that Republicans cannot with without Ohio but can trade Ohio for Pennsylvania. This is old news if you watch the Electoral College and its histories.
“Penn’s comments were “surprising because it’s generally considered off limits for candidates from the same party to denounce another as unelectable,” noted Canada.com, which reported the remarks.”[2]
The ‘prize’ for being too optimistic and giving lectures on ‘change’ and ‘experience and other forms of fluff comes home to haunt and reinstruct those who would ‘plan’ elections and ‘choose’ the potential winners. The disease here, not limited to Democrats given the Gerald Ford, Bob Dole and Elder Bush races, merely illustrates that party hacks and rhetorical nonsense drive the nomination process and selection of candidates.
The USSR never had this problem.
Somewhere, given the added fact that John McCain has won his nomination, we need to admit that this is a chaos process devoid of reason or planning. Our futures are in the hands of idiots and this is proof.
