Are We Getting Through to the Slugs in Congress??
We must suspect that the hallowed halls of Congress must sequester some form of brain-destroying mold, or other organism, that robs our elected leaders of most of their cognitive skills save those needed for hygiene, booze and stuffing money into jacket pockets. The air must ring with musty spheroids of pollen or viruses that can extinguish any sense of morality, faith or decency while sanctifying sloth, prevarication and indolence. Eventually all so-called Senators, a vile and cruel insult to the Roman Republic, can be bribed with this or that and vote as if they were born and educated in Mexico, East Timor or Timbuktu.
But, they seem to retain sufficient neurons and other essential cranial matter to sense when the voters are about to throw their greazy carcasses back into the streets. An example springs to mind, this week, as we think about the Immigration Bill now resurrected from the Rotted and Gone. There are some 14 lousy lawlettss in this horrible bill that seeks to reward criminal activity with special tax breaks and amnesty and most Senators have at least heard whispers of voter unrest and need to be wary of their future jobs in government service.
One slimy point, apparently written by La Raza [The Race, the Spanish racist digest] or some inebriated imbecile in the Kennedy camp was going to allow, for obvious reasons, criminals to be eligible for citizenship although they had committed serious felonies like rape, murder and such. Many our elected officials have done as much, although not convicted, and have sympathy and empathy for felons. Most of these crooks are Democrats, who stand to gain many votes from this bill.
The details are in limbo now, but the game might be rigged. Amendments hang in the air like so much marijuana smoke in the Senate.
Here is an analysis:
“This is despite the fact that the conservative leaders of the anti-amnesty movement are refusing to cooperate, and won't give Mitch McConnell a list of amendments that they want considered. My source tells me that the reason for this is that the game has now been rigged. McConnell is essentially promising to bring the amendments up in exchange for cloture votes, but Trent Lott is publicly saying that they will strip any problematic amendments out in committee.
“In other words, if the bill gets through the Senate and the House, the Democrats and the open borders Republicans will work together when the bills have to be reconciled in committee to strip out any amendments that the "grand bargainers" don't like. Therefore, at this point, it doesn't matter what amendments pass, because any tough enforcement provisions that slip through will be rendered toothless when the bills are reconciled”
What a slimy deal.
I think we need for a Senator to step forward and just filibuster the whole gig unless certain amendments are put in the bill that prevent the outrages mentioned above. Trent Lott is acting like a Democrat now with his slim 1 vote majority as minority leader. He should lose that and be given a job he can do.
“I asked my source to speculate on why Lott was pushing so hard, and he said that Lott may be naive enough to think that this bill might help John McCain's presidential campaign. He told me that despite McCain's dip in the polls since the bill hit the news, it was hard to miss the fact that the biggest supporters of this bill in the Senate, Jon Kyl, Trent Lott, and Lindsey Graham, are all solidly behind McCain in 'O8.”
McCain is finished as a Presidential candidate [McCain Feingold Bill] so we should encourage Kyl and Graham to dump his maverick carcass aside and get back to reality. There is no reason to break Social Security, invite 40,000,000 aliens to the welfare rolls with full medical or give the left-liberals a bunch of votes.
Move Lott outta power.
