The latest news is, from some of those who have dismal approval ratings, given as more promises:
"We're going to show the American people that the promises in this bill will be kept," Bush said in a speech to the Associated Builders and Contractors.”[1] –President Bush.
It is always interesting that promises are offered after a long string of promises have been broken on a given subject. Here, we must recall all the fluff and foam about ‘closing the border’ and ‘building a fence’ with little or no action and no funding for the fence.
The approval rating of Congress, at this time, is now worse than Bush’s dismal and well-earned level.
We are damn sick of this promissory promiscuity that oozes from the nearest cavity of some pandering politico as he/she/it panders and gropes for new ways to offer more earmarks[2] to cronies and hatch new perks to the ‘elected’ representatives of the people.
Obey says staff aides and lawmakers simply haven't had enough time to sift through more than 32,000 earmark requests and decide which ones make sense. Now, some bills will be delayed as his colleagues and aides work double time to "scrub" earmark requests.[3]
It is difficult to distinguish these people from cockroaches.
Let us remember these charnel house-grade parasites in the next primary round and general elections. There is little reason to reelect any of these losers.
